Was this the point you are talking about Peter? This is the only post from 888pl staff/management talking about the rationale for scrapping most of the online freerolls, and i think you need to read it again carefully.

Nowhere had anybody suggested that players should 'go and play elsewhere'. To suggest that 888pl would create a structure that endorses this is just ridiculous.

Jesus H Christ on a pogo stick! Are you being deliberately obtuse?
so stop bitiching and say thank you if you dont like the new schedule you can vote with your feet or click of a mouse, by not playing on line or at a venue.

Oh look.. here’s one of the fabled posts telling me to fuck off and play elsewhere.

Now because there seems to be a distinct lack of comprehension here I will reiterate my points in a simpler form.

The ONLINE free rolls were a value added benefit/bonus for the league players. It is being stripped away and replaced due to economical reasons, but being replaced by something that is dubious at best and contradicts the fiscal reason given for the change.

I pointed out inconsistencies in the application of the logic.

I don’t normally play a lot of online free rolls. I prefer the buy-ins but I was voicing an OBJECTIVE point of view which you people seem incapable of considering. You are oblivious to the thoughts and perceptions of other players. It’s always all about you and how the changes affect you and never about the league as a whole.

Yes, I understand and fully appreciate that 888PL is a business. And how Garth et al run the business is TOTALLY up to them. I was asked for my opinion so I gave it. I have more than enough respect for the people running 888PL to give my honest and objective opinion and then accept their final decisions.

And you wonder why people don’t like posting on this forum.... Good God.. wake up to yourselves.

pete, there are still 3 bloody freerolls a day. and you probably haven't bothered to read, but they now carry a 1x points multiplier.

so in reality the only change in the very low buyin schedule is changing the freeroll+rebuy to a extremely cheap rebuy 0.50c

there have been bigger games added to keep some of the more advanced players interested in the league. i for one was getting bored with playing $3 games, and i stopped playing the freerolls long ago. i know that i am not in the majority.

so now there are 3 freerolls a day, and a 50 cent game. 4 games a day. plus pub games. and you reckon that there isn't games for the beginners?

the only real change is the scrapping of the freeroll+rebuys. and lets face it, this was a complete loophole to begin with.

you talk about value added? what about the fact that if you final table all 3 freerolls you get $100. thats pretty awesome value added if you ask me.

so you get to play 3 freerolls a day, still get dream team points, still qualify for finals, and you get $100 if you final table all 3.

what more do you want?

in addition, the freerolls are now uncapped, so i can easily see them getting 300 runners.

if you take out the loophole of the AK and murrin, these games will still be the best point earners.

for a $10 game to have more points on offer than the freeroll, it will need to get 60 runners, which hasn't even looked like happening so far.

so seriously, get real mate.

Until the online component came into this, the league ALWAYS favoured those with bigger wallets, no children, no mortgage... because they could go out every night (if they desired) and play live.

I don't think the fee rolls carry any points benny the cunt.

I wasn't questioning the scrapping of the AK etc. just the free rolls not attracting any points at all.

Why not give the free rolls half points or 1/3 points?

this is not true anymore. the online has skewed this in the favour of people that can play the most freerolls.

For those people who don't want to deposit money online, don't trust credit cards etc (although they can use P&P cards), that's just an issue they have to deal with and either change, or accept that they can't play for money online.

It's part of the landscape of playing poker online. Just as going to a pub and putting up with the occasional (or sometimes more than occasional) drunk person, and sometimes staying out past 11pm on a weeknight, are parts of playing live.

I don't think the new schedule for home games is vastly different from the old one. In fact for a lot of players, the higher buyin games are more of a value add. Who knows.

7 out of the 15 games in the new schedule have a $3 or less buyin, not including the $2 rebuy which is probbably more like a $8 game if you play it like a conventional rebuy.

i think its a pretty decent compromise.

most of your concerns have been answered in garth's new post

if you dont wanna deposit, just bink 3 final tables, and boom $100 doolahs :D

good point though dave. there have always been a $20 and a $10 each night, only difference is now they are worth some points, which will value add for the higher end players. hasn't really changed for the lower buyin players

i might have to make a correction.

i am not sure the freerolls are worth anything at all.

garth's post says up to $4.99 carry a 1x multiplier, but then in the schedule it has freerolls as 0x

but the multipliers for the massive games have gone down though.

even so, something like the murrin rebuy for 50c is still great value for points.
