I feel for you old man Swanky, theres not much that will happen without the serial no of the lappy, Before you explode with frustration read the HP warrenty conditions, the power supply may or may not be covered, also it maybe a "return to base" warrenty, which means you are responsible to pay the fright costs back to the repair centre which is most likely in Sydney.

As benny the cunt said there are plenty of after market power supplies from Jacar and others that will do the job.
