hunt and folau's pay packets would be less than 5% i would guess, and in terms of value for marketing dollar, it would be worth much much much more

Do you know how much they are reported to be receiving?

WOW ! .. $10mil between the two of them for 4 years?

You would hope they take to the game well.

As said before they are well built athletes and are more than likely able to adapt ok but it would be mighty embarrassing for some if they can't get a grip on the game.

Ok i have to ask, how many people here actually had even heard of these two guys 2 years ago. And seriously in 4 years time most AFL fans wont remember their name either after they crashed and burned.

i agree they will spark intrsest for maybe a season, but after that the fact they have no actual skill set for the game will catch up. I have seen Karmichael Hunt kick a league ball (which is a hell of alot easier than an AFL ball) and he is terrible. There is a reason he played full back, and not in the halfs. Also what good is that monster step he had, going to be used for in AFL.

Israel Folau does the unbelievable takes alot of high balls but never has had any one actuall try to spoil as that just wouldn't work in league. Toatally diferent outjumping someone who they have over a foot in height who is genuinly trying to catch the ball.

I can guarantee they will over commit on defence and prob get suspended early on for dangerous play, high shots etc, as their tackling tecnicque (something they have been doing since they were 4) will not suit the game.

What this goes to show is that the people running the NRL are amongst the most idiotic in the world. The salary cap is a joke for the highest level league in the world. If Gallop doesnt sort this crap out more players will change codes or goto europe and the league itself will disolve.

I really do hope they both fail, mainly because they are queenslanders. hhahahaha

Honestly i believe both these clubs will fail. Gold coast is rugby territory and has has 3 diferent teams in last 15 years, now the most successful of the bunch is also in financial ruin. How will a minority sport fare. Its even becoming more evident that even adelaide cant sustain 2 teams.

plenty of typos and i dont care (coleman), im tired.

All I know is I'd hate to be the medium size/small forward who gets Hunt or the guy who lines up alongside Folau on the wing in a couple years,

Yeah early on Falou will play up forward definitely but after he learns the game a few years down the track he will play on the wing i reckon,

apparently he can run a 100m in 10.5, which is insane for a bloke his size. but he has no aerobic capacity

Folau has kicked the ball 10 times in his 5 years of Rugby League. So that is around $600,000 per kick????
