shouldn't it be the pub's job to encourage the players to spend more at the venue... not 888pl??
I respect the poker gods, I think that's why they are nice to me!!!

As a reward for regular attendance on location that I know of in SA has its own top 30 final.
Puts up quite a bit of money for this as well, knowing that it is rewarding the regularsand gets them an extra night of poker (at end of season) and continued good will amongst players.

Yeah but if the pub is not making any money, do you think the poker will still be played there?

My thoughts were along the line of 888pl rewarding loyal players.......additional cards may not be the best answer.

I presented this thought before on this forum, that the venue and facilitator(888pl) should encourage responsibile drinking, rather than requiring both cards to be fill at the end of the first break.
Cards can then only be used as life lines prior to the 1st break, at the 1st break only 1 card can be redeamed and then the 2nd card can be used as a life line until the 2nd break and then if you still have your card at the 2nd break it will be used then.
Perhaps chip value of cards could be an x multiplyer of the start stack.
Foundation 2000
Challenge 3000
Cards used prior to the 1st break are equal to the the start stack, cards redeamed at the 1st break are 2x the SS, cards used during the 2nd session are 2x SS, cards redeamed at the 2nd break would be worth 3x SS.

What your opinion.

Starts getting complicated I think gundog.
I do agree though, responsible drinking should be encouraged. I think those driving that are drinking softdrinks should be accommodated. It's hard to stamp a card if your driving and don't purchase a meal.

Main reason why I stopped playing at the Louie, spending $30 to get stamped for a freeroll is just out of the question every week.

I expect to pay this at any venue I play.

you have unrealistic expectations on what you should be paying. i think $20-$30 is completely fine
