You are given a booklet that has the stamps in, maybe 10 to a page!

Using booklets and things is way to complicated i think. Here is a simple idea.

The thread is repeat business!!
If you have to spend extra money every week for meals that are of the same standard as you or your partner cooks, then will you continue to go to that venue?
All I am saying is if you buy a booklet, then you can use the chips up when ever you want and you dont have to drink or eat a vast amount. The veunes are getting money whether you use the booklet or not and you are encouraged to go back to the venue as the chips will expire at end of season.
Complicated??

The principle isn't complicated at all, but it's more work for the td. That's the point we are trying to make

Why should it be for chips? Why can't a venue just have good deals themselves that bring players back?

I think you are confusing the issue it about repeat business, you have a fixation with a booklet idea open your mind and consider what other are saying.

the third card..... used for a meal, it has merit,

But I think it would be better to reward the players that support the venue over the the majority of the season.

This is a good point. Having a poker players special is another good way.

A venue I frequent used to give 4 stamps for a burger then changed it to meals over 15 only. And 2 stamps for less than 15.

I still go but I know at least 1 player that stopped going as a result

Your spot on there Bacon,

1 Riverland venue provides hot bar snacks for the players at the 1st break, are there any others that do that kind of thing.
(On a sad note another venue in the region is dropping poker soon)

Bar snacks and meal specials cost the venue money. As much as I would like to see it, I just don't think too many will buy into it.

3 Cards is so simple it's not funny.
2 normal, 1 bonus card. You fill up the bonus card between that night and next week and you can use the card for 1k extra next week.
You feel like you're getting a bonus, the venue gets a few extra bucks and they don't lose money and you're probably coming back next week. Every player wins a prize in that scenario.

As far as stamps go, this is the same old issue.
I know, that no matter what venue I go to, a meal will generally get a card stamped. By the time I have a fee and 2 drinks both cards are done, I have spent no more than $25. I can never see people's problem with the stamping. I'll genrally have 3, sometimes for drinks depending on how deep I go in the tourny. So I can drink responibly, have a good feed and play some cards all for around $25 - $30, no big deal.

Thank you Sir. I like the good old KISS system ie Keep It Simple Stupid. Why complicate things with books and 'what if' scenarios. Who could keep remembering a book let alone keeping it in one piece for a whole season?

There are a few venues around that put on extras. The Semaphore Hotel has been great since the first night there with pizza for all to share at 2nd break. They also stamp both cards if you have a meal and a drink. But that's all up to the venue.

I maybe wrong here but most people playing now will go to play poker at their local regardless of whether there is free food or not. Most venues are not competing with other 888pl venues on a given night within their area, so really whether the food is there or not you will still attend. What they are competing against is other poker leagues. What 888pl need to do is something that will get new players to a venue, or keep regular and new players coming back. I am not sure if free food will keep good poker players coming back. (Maybe hungry ones) 888pl needs to offer something different to other leagues. If you could have either a booklet or multiple stamp cards that you can get stamped up, but for use on another night is an idea. There maybe one night where you (maybe take the wife and kids out) and spend $50 at a venue but currently still only get two cards for that night. If you were to get 4 cards (two of which you could use on another night within that season) then you are encouraged to come back.
