Re: Joe Cada doco - looks good.
I have watched the 2009 ME up until the FT on pokertube, and the only torrents i can find have no seeders.
Any other ideas on where I can get the FT footage to view...
After Garth's last couple of posts here, I am more confident I answered his question about elimination in the spirit in which he intended the question. Honestly a bit surprised there were so many posts in favour of option #1 (completely owned and outplayed)
benny the cunt: Why don't you like Cada? Is it his style of play or something more of his personality? I did think he sounded a bit pretentious at first, when i heard him talking to Phil Ivey like they were old high school friends, but mostly he seemed OK... Played pretty well to from what I saw...
That said i havent seen the FT yet, so perhaps your view is based on something(s) that happened on the FT??

Re: Joe Cada doco - looks good.
Thanks maccatak, someone already pointed me to youtube... Odd it wasn't on pokertube tho?
OK, so now I have watched the FT...
Yeah I gotta say, there was some very funky plays there...
I mean wtf are the 2 bigstacks doin butting heads with AK and AQ? (so much in preflop?)
OK, Cada made a funky shove with 33, but in that hand lets give him the benefit of the doubt thinkin he could get a fold, and if called be up against just 2 paint cards?? Even though Shulman was what, UTG/UTG+1? He was playin tight, and the commentators mentioned that was his game plan, as did an 'interlude' interview piece with him. And (writing this later) from memory Cada was very short.
And the shove with deuces, yeah u gotta ask WTF, but again, he played it like the online HU player he is. Had Saout had KTs or somethin and folded after his 3bet, everyone would be sayin Cada is a hero to get the fold with only deuces, gutsy. But as it was a suckout, he's considered an idiot. I can't imagine he put Saout on a higher pair 3 handed there. Sure he got very lucky, but was the play really that bad? Again he probably playing for the fold preflop... But yeah, playing your tournament life on a flip is dodgy... Although he did have fold equity on his side...
I can understand some of Moon's plays though... Allin preflop IS the best way not to get outplayed postflop (which he openly stated he was quite wary of), but some of his calls were a bit funky... He must have read 'Kill Phil' sometime?
Certainly I would have laid AQ to Ivey's push. Given what this bracelet meant to him, he had to have AK at minimum to push into the bigstack there... Even more so given that Moon was calling pretty liberally.
But i don't hear anyone dising Moon? I think Cada just got it in further behind and got lucky, that that sticks out more than the bad shoves/calls from others...
But seriously, most of them played pretty funky at times, except Ivey, although I couldnt believe he folded those Jacks. Shulman didnt really make any bad moves either, or Buchman so much. But they were in the minority!
Like WTF is Saout doing jamming 46BB on pocket 8s over Cada's raise? Seems obv he hoping for a fold, but... I mean if you think you are up against AK/AQ or any big Ace (even 2 paint cards), then 88 is really not much better than 22 is it?
Sure Cada's call with AK isn't the best either, he had to figure he was flipping at best for 1/2 his stack, but I can think of 1 reasoning for his play: You're 3 handed (big tourney or not) and can potentially get HU with a huge chip lead, AND you are a HU specialist... Maybe not such a bad gamble by Cada to try to get it to HU right there? If he loses, he still had like 40M no? I must have read 'play for the win' atleast 5 separate times here on this forum alone. And in that hand he was...
Also Saut could posilby be tilting after the beat Cada put on him? Trying to steal a pot back from Cada? Perhaps...
Its easy to play arm-chair poker and say "WTF push with deuces? or call 1/2 your stack with AK?"... But none of us have come anywhere near Cada's success, even before this WSOP ship.
But HU in that 2nd hand with top pair 2nd kicker, I think Cada shoulda 3bet him there, Moon couldnt call surely? He misplayed that one, although was unlucky on the turn.
In the hand where they both had J9, I cant really blame him for folding the turn to Moon's aggression, but as the commentators said, he should have really raised that flop, especially with 2 clubs out.
At that point I was starting to wonder how he makes a profit at high stakes HU! But again, easy to play from home...
That last hand was an easy call for him I think, given how aggressive Moon had been playing. Sure, Moon could have made the same play with a T, but he's an idiot if he does.
Just a frickin preflop jam-fest... Very dissapointing! but maybe makes for good TV to the non-playing public?
Many non-pros at that table, and it showed...
Damn it woulda been nice to see some decent post-flop play, I think only 2 hands got played out to the turn?? (televised anyway)
Just too much allin preflop for my liking.
Played out like they were all shortstacked!
Yeah, very dissapointing ME FT...
I will say it again I think it too easy for us to watch, seeing all the hole cards, and say Cada made some donkey plays and got lucky (which he obv did get lucky), but who here can claim anything close to his success even without that WSOP win? Even playing day 2, day 1 even, of the WSOP ME he has done more than anyone here...
I cant see any real reason to dislike him from that FT.
Many players made some damn funky moves, he just got luckiest.
The whole FT very dissappointing to me...
No reason to single out Cada, other than he shipped it.
On a side note: Anyone know what that bracelet is worth? Surely its gotta be made of platinum?
Also, what are the level times for that event. i have googled for ages now and cant find the level info.
Did anyone else think it strange the antes came in so late?

sorry AJG but you must be the worst googler in history
googling "wsop structure" and clicking on the second link gives you the 2010 structure, which would be very similar to the 2009 one i would think.
all levels are 120 minutes, and the antes come in at 150/300 - first there is a 150/300 level, then a 150/300/25 level. thats pretty early if you ask me.

30k start stack as well, so after a WHOLE DAY of play, you still have 100bb if you have a start stack.
thats pretty awesome
