Ok, some of you may remember a post I made 6 months about a small opportunity I could have for a Vegas trip in May/June of this year. Well, it looks like it's come to fruition.
A mate works for Virgin Pacific. His route is Sydney/Brisbane/LA. Using his staff discount he can get me return flights from Brisbane to LA for US$450. With possible chance for free upgrade to Business class, depending on availability. The only thing is I can't really choose when to go, timing is for him to decide.
I didn't see him for a little while until last Monday. He mentioned that he had two weeks of leave coming up and wanted to go somewhere. I reminded him of the vegas idea and he jumped at it. So queue up 9 days later, passport application done, US travel permit applied for, bankroll secured. Looking at late May for travel.
He plans on hiring a car and driving to Vegas for about a week, staying at the Excalibur for US$41 twin share a night. Obviously this is an opportunity too good to pass up for me...
Now at this stage I had no idea when the WSOP was on, I assumed late June some time, so I figured if i could play well and increase my bankroll I might hang around and make a run at some events. Maybe. Possibly. Highly Unlikely. Then I see sideshow Glyn on Sunday and he tells me that it starts May 28.
OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG
Issues I may have:
Passport not coming through in time/being rejected - Unlikely, but could happen.
US travel permit not being accepted - Again unlikely
Mate renegging on flights - Most likely scenerio, still unlikely though. And at this stage, I'm so pumped I'd probably still go anyway.
So assuming travel is all cool, WSOP here I come. I have a proper bankroll for this, and will be offering up to 50% of my action in 1% stakes for any bracelet events I play to anyone on this forum that wants it via chipmeup.com.
So yeah, Vegas baby.....
