i think the problem with this is that it gives incentives for people to quit the game.

if i have crushed over the first 5 hours, there is a fair chance i would stop playing and hope that my win rate was enough to get me the prize. this is why i like the overall, because it encourages the winning players to stay longer, just in case someone else goes on a heater.

it also encourages the losing players to rebuy once more, because if they double up a few times, then they could be in line for a biger payday.

You cannot rake the prize pool and you cannot make any fee that does not go towards the prize pool a compulsory fee. I know it's a private residence but just be careful.

fair enough

so we can have non-compulsory tips to a dealer, and compulsory contributions to the prizes for most won etc.

both can be done on the hour.

i.e you pay $1 to the prize pool, and if you feel the need, you can tip the dealer

Hope everyone that would've normally attended the 888 game at the Kingsford and other events on that night are still going to support 888...

What?

Its completely a personal choice whether they want to play my game or not. Its not like this is an ongoing series of events, its one night.

Furthermore, if 888 had a problem with this thread, they would've already said.

You're also assuming that everyone that will be attending mine was always going to go the Kingsford/other 888 events.

We're going to have like 30 players, max. Not really an issue dude.

i am pretty sure the kingsford will survive if they are down a few players for one night.

if you want to support the kingsford instead, then thats fine.

you could also play for some of the night and still play the kingy as well.

is the date you put down tentative? How many people are you expecting on a Monday, all day?

Surely the week after would be the way to go for that time frame, given the 12th of June is a public holiday here?

That's cool AK. I'm just putting it out there. 888 supply this great tool for us to use and I can just see a conflict of interest. That's all I'm saying. There is potential for it to snowball with others choosing to use this as a precedent to discuss / promote their home games or any other game in fact which aren't in the interest for 888.

Either way, I think it's a great idea. I was thinking about doing the same for NYE but never got around to it.

I quite like Garth's idea.

This, I was under the impression that the Monday public holiday fell on the 8th.

Event is now on the 12th/13th.
