Re: What do u need to make finals?
I don't, I've (if we're gonna be honest) had state finals wrapped up for a few weeks.
The leaderboard from the Willaston, Wednesdays:
Position, name, total points, games played, average.
1 Aaron Kleemann 300.30 8 37.54
2 Clint Wehrmann 266.45 8 33.31
3 Carl Britton 240.75 8 30.09
4 Maxwell Gordon 221.45 8 27.68
5 Stephen Bee 216.55 8 27.07
6 Russell Minett 211.25 7 30.18
As you can see there's a 90 point gap between me and 6th with only 2 weeks left. I think I'm going to state finals.

No further effort required from me (yay)
Was/am in the top 5 for an early session that got cancelled recently. The placings stand (there are several precedents for this in case anyone is wondering) so now all I need to do is learn how to make it past the 2nd hand and I'm laughing

Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

I am.
Firstly, the most obvious one, why? Second, how many weeks had been played when the game was cancelled? How many left?

Re: What do u need to make finals?
I wish I'd made a sanitised non-monetary wager on you being the one to ask, Aaron
Simply, a venue starts having the NPL as it's provider of the freeroll poker experience that we all know and love. At some stage, for whatever reason, that venue might decide that it's not for them or they need to revert back to only one session per week or whatever. Clearly, this is their loss
The fact remains though, that they've had players receiving points for their games and they had a leaderboard for whichever session it was that got cancelled. Would you like to be the person that has to explain to those in the top 5 for that leaderboard that their efforts have been for naught? No? Not even I would attempt it either!
Basically if that happens at a venue it's practically treated as the season ending early for that leaderboard.
Recent examples that I can easily remember are...
The Cathedral Hotel
Oakden Tavern
Studio89 (early session only) <-- that's the one I'm in.
I'm sure that if I've gotten any of that incorrect then Garth will enlighten us further.
Just in case you don't see this as fair and reasonable, please remember that I'm a large and angry man

You should know me well enough by now, Pete

Course not. And I totally agree with you, if the season is cut short, players should be rewarded for the time, effort and money they put into playing poker at that venue every week. To not keep the top 5 as it was at the end of the season is stupid, and unfair to the players.

As I said above, understandable. Just wondering how many weeks the season at Studio 89 had completed.

I'd normally direct you to the NPL website and suggest you could have found that out for yourself very easily.... but in this instance I can forgive you (so, so angry at that website lol)
5 or 6 weeks seems about right (so basically half a regular season).
