Re: NPL coming to adelaide
NPL will be offering a State Final every month.
Month 1 = $3,000
Month 2 = $3,000
Month 3 = $10,000
Rinse and repeat.
Also no mention of how SA players can qualify but they will still have their NPL 500,000. To be held sometime in 2010 (dates have changed three times now) and the tournament is capped at 250 players of which I expect 99% of players will come from NSW.
Month 1 $3000
(1st $1500; 2nd $650, 3rd $400, 4th $200, 5th $100, 6-7th $50, 8-9th $25).
Month 2 $3000
(1st $1500; 2nd $650, 3rd $400, 4th $200, 5th $100, 6-7th $50, 8-9th $25).
Month 3 $10,000
(1st $4000 Full Tilt Package $2200 ticket PLUS $800 flight and accommodation PLUS Entrance into NPL $60,000 quarterly National Finals; 2nd $2,000 PLUS Entrance into NPL $60,000 quarterly National Finals; 3rd $1,200 PLUS Entrance into NPL $60,000 quarterly National Finals, 4th $1000 PLUS Entrance into NPL $60,000 quarterly National Finals, 5th $800 PLUS Entrance into NPL $60,000 quarterly National Finals, 6th $500, 7th $250, 8th $150, 9th $100).
Thoughts on this system??

Re: NPL coming to adelaide
hmmm....I don't really see the point to the first 2 $3000 finals?? Depends on the runners and structure, but could be a long day of poker to final table and only walk away with $25.....

I like the idea of qualifying for a decent casino tourney for the winner though, this is something 888pl could look at, as it promotes the next step in poker....

Re: NPL coming to adelaide
Do you mean the $2200 Full Tilt Package - Ticket plus airfares? I assumed this was entry to a Wlid Turkey event or similar?
And yes, I do realise they are ripping you off in SO many ways (or at least trying to)!!

Personally I don't like the idea of regular 'Big' games. I rather the big build up over 3 months as it gives the game more meaning to me.

IT Absolutely Is! That's why I played in it
But that was a side event at the GF, not for the winner of the Semi Final. A ticket to the opening event of a major Aust poker championships would be good for the winner of the Semi's ($1100 event or similar), just as an added experience for that player....
I played in the opening event of the Aussie Millions this year, and it was an awesome experience, and really helped my poker alot. I think it would be a good reward for the winner of the Semi's, that's all...
