Back from page 1... Yes I get your point benny the cunt, but I just said it makes me sit back and think, not that I think anything nasty is going on.

Also i didnt realize the size of 888, i just see their poker site as small (less action than FTP or Stars), but yeah if they have massive BJ etc then they would be producing lots of decks...

I just thought of something else that might (would?) make this actually more likely. Consider the poker room dealing say 1000 tables simultaneously. With the poker room just generating new decks somewere in the background, and handing them out to tables as required, would this increase the likelyhood of duplicate hands?
Or say, if something happens with probability of 1 in a million and the poker room deals say 200K hands per hour, then it will happen to someone once every 5 hours, on average...
Point being, seeing improbable things (like 2x quads 8s or 2x royals) within small time periods seems to be an online phenomenon, so it either must have something to do with the sheer volume of hands, and/or the number of tables playing simultaneously... It does seem to me (without thinking too deeply on the matter) that simultaneity must have something to do with it, because i have heard players report such things in HU sessions to, like them or opponent flopping a set of Qs twice in 10 hands...

I was reading somewhere else, about the odds of a player getting the same hole cards AND the same flop twice in a row. (Ok here the 3rd flop card was probably different each time, and suits and order also) but the odds of this- identical hole cards and flop x2, were quoted as 1 in 26 million. Obviously there will be a greater chance given what I said in parenthesis, but I am just wondering (been along time since I studied probability/stats and textbooks well packed away), instead of back to back hands, if we were to ask the odds of this happening within say 100 hands, we would just make it 100 in 26 million, yes?
Image ...11.59% of bad beat stories are just misplayed hands ...

to me, its just due to the fact that you see so many hands.

i usually 6 table (i was 10 tabling last night, tableninja FTW /brag)

lets just call it 6 tables. at 75 hands an hour, which is pretty conservative, thats 450 hands an hour.

compare that with 20-30 hands an hour for live play, i think there is much more opportunity to try and "spot" patterns.
