Not only is it such a boring track to watch a race on, it won't be a true indicator of a team's pace as the lap is so long now (extended since last season) and the new section is so tight no team knows what set-up to use.
With the limited practice per weekend in really is a crap shoot here.
Just wait til Melbourne/Sepang/Shanghai. Known tracks with proven set-ups will show us the true speed of each team.
I kinda think the fact they have to carry around a full race worth of fuel will make such proven set-ups obselete, or atleast innacurate, consider the difference between the car's handling on the first to last lap?? Or perhaps teams will come up with methods to dynamically change more than just wing angle either on the track or during a tyre stop? Still going to change the whole dynamic of the setups... I think its kind of odd to rule they cant change
anything on the car except the amount of fuel between Qualifying and the race... Ok yeah, less fuel in Qualifying and they will go faster, but they still need to use a setup capable of staying on the track with a tankfull! I liked the days when they could fitout the car for a flying lap, then change for race conditions....
Caleb, I dont think either F1 or Poker is the greatest sport in the world, but I immensly enjoy both, pity I can only actually experiance 1 of them! But given the choice between F1 WC 2011 or Poker WSOP Champ 2011, I think Id take the later...
But I am very keen to see how the new rules will effect the racing, obv put more emphasis on the driving... But as I said above, maybe some teams will come up with ways to overcome some limitations like more dynamic setup changing? Much to look forward to me thinks!
