How much you need to pay for one is directly proportional to the sellers valuation and your willingness to agree with that.

There's no fixed method of deciding it's worth, other than to say it costs $500 at full price.

if someone is going to buy in directly, but then dont have the option, then this person has to spend $500 in the rebuy tourneys to generate this ticket. i very much doubt that people will do that.

i would say that 80% of the people would set themselves a limit of a couple hundred before they give up for the season (or maybe even directly buy in after that)

direct buyins are great i think, so long as these players have supported 888pl in some way.

Umm, not really benny the cunt. You only need to get 5 more guys interested in playing to spend $100, or 10 more guys spending $50, or 25 more guys spending $20, etc., etc......
As Matt said, not too many people bought in over and above the qualifiers, so wouldn't be too hard to generate the tickets that you would have sold.
People will still buy in directly, but will have to pay the 888pl members with multiple tickets the $500 for their ticket, therefore also rewarding the people who have put in the effort and/or were lucky enough to have multiple tickets...

i am missing something here. what has this got to do with direct buyins? building the satellite prize pool is great.

it seems you are trying to say that not allowing 1 person to buy in directly is going to make 5 people go to a satellite. i dont think that this would be the case.

why should you rely on someone winning multiple tickets?

well done that you have done that jo, but you cant expect to get $500 for it if you do. thats just market forces.

Ok, benny the cunt, you are not seeing my point. (and it is not about that fact I didn't get $500 for my ticket, in fact has nothing to do with it!!!).

Has anyone attempted to put a GF ticket on ebay yet?

This doesn't mean I'm saying it's a good idea! Just curious.
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

That's a little narrow minded mate. It is not only "1" person, it is EVERYONE. If you want to play the GF, you have to try and win a ticket. If you do not, you have to hope someone else wins multiple tickets and you can buy in.

For the record, this is not a brag topic, but a discussion on what might be the best way for allowing entries into the GF.

The fact is, 888pl can come up with a qualifying structure that WILL generate any amount of tickets they require (be that 600, or more if they wish). It is a simple marketing exercise....

Ben: hi garth, i was wondering if i could buy a ticket for the grand final. i have played 13 away games this season, but couldn't make it to any of the rebuy games, so i want to buy in directly.

Garth: sorry, you have to go find someone that has already won a ticket and buy it off him for $500 instead of buying it from us.

Ben: wtf, why?

i can't see how this is good for marketing.

i get your point about trying to increase the runners for the satellite events. but i think this is independent of the direct buyins. i really dont see how they have an effect at all

I'm struggling to see why it should be fixed at $500.

May as well continue to allow direct buy-ins if that's the case.
