i dont think there is a problem with direct buy ins - the more the better (as long as they have played their away game quota), but i don't think its an issue overall. If anything it will increase the standard or play, which is only a good thing (players will only direct buy in if they think they have a decent chance of cashing).

very true
What do you mean, thats unrelated!

But they will still be buying in - just buying from a player rather than 888pl.

yeah i realise that, but buying from a player doesn't increase the prize pool, buying another ticket from 888pl does. Bigger prize pools are what we (well i anyway) want.

Yeah, true. Interesting discussion though.
Good luck to those playing on the weekend.

Matt, you might be a little bit limited in your thinking there. Remember what I said earlier, if there is no possibility to just sit back and buy in directly from 888pl, I believe more people will play the satellites, therefore generating more tickets, and raising the prizepool....
What?, poker without the river??, you've just made my dreams come true!!!

yeah good point jmack, although there weren't that many people who bought in directly to the last one (i dont think), but it would be interesting to see the difference.

Yeah, it's definately one for the 888pl management to consider anyway.

your thinking is a bit flawed jmack.

if someone is going to buy in directly, but then dont have the option, then this person has to spend $500 in the rebuy tourneys to generate this ticket. i very much doubt that people will do that.

i would say that 80% of the people would set themselves a limit of a couple hundred before they give up for the season (or maybe even directly buy in after that)

direct buyins are great i think, so long as these players have supported 888pl in some way.

Direct buy-ins are awesome.

How much you need to pay for one is directly proportional to the sellers valuation and your willingness to agree with that.

There's no fixed method of deciding it's worth, other than to say it costs $500 at full price.
