in the other thread .which is gone now , you said about chat being annoying to some people .
if this is the case there is a disable tab for them to use .
they have an option .
most people i know go to play @ venues to play & talk too other people .
like to get out play a game & have a chat.
i believe this is the same as online. there are many of us that talk too each other .
most of us have never met ,& some of us have taken the time to go meet others .
or are planning too in future .
but all that being said we all like to win & try to do so

Re-Read my post please. The issue i was trying to portray was that there is more than one kind of player and for each player what kind of importance the chat box has to them.

As for disabling it, it only minimises it and doesn't effectively get rid of it. When you have two people in a conversation, and are involved in a hand, if there is some big decisions to be made, watch how quickly the chat actually stops. So for all poker players having that little bit of information is huge. Hence why it might be annoying but is smarter to still leave it open to check.

Now as my post said, to the 888pl player, being social is an important thing. To 888.com, the poker platform, Most players there don't use the chat feature and if they do it is either for short simple acronyms such as gg (good game or good going), WP (well played), NH (nice hand), LOL, Sick, or for the longer abusive versions of text.

Hence installing a filter to stop some of the abusive tirades that are known to happen online due to the anoynmity allowed by the medium. With the introduction of 888pl to 888.com, the social aspect is bought online by 888pl. With this social aspect, 888.com has to create a filter that is better implemented and doesn't delete words that are considered safe by most people in context.

888pl has no control over this filter. Hence why all the responses were to pass it on to 888.com, the poker platform.

Now it seems like the problem has been fixed, everyone seems to be happy about it. I stopped the thread so that no one gets into trouble on the forum or with the 888pl.

i was not saying that chat should be filtered , but to those it annoys they have an option .
when i,m in a hand it does not stop or make me pause my conversation . as most would know .lol not many people tell me to be quiet or shut up & go to bed pmsfl
except giz ,cc ,jayay k-ex . actually most people do. lol
i was not tring to be a smart àrsë "lol"
