Is this cheating

Postby gundog » Sat Feb 23, 2008 9:29 pm

A player who sits side by side with 2 other players regularly.

Starts to game with the normal chip stack he cashes in one passport, during the 1st session he goes all in and looses, he goes over to the tournment director I presume to cash in another passport, he returns to the table chipped up with 1 yellow chip.

At the conclusion of the 1st session I visually count the players chip stack, why because this player has been seen to be chipped up on other occasions.

On returning to table to commence 2nd session, lo and behold the player has an additional 2 purple chips = 1000, how can this be so when he has used 2 passports already or has he?

This begs the question

Is he using passports from other players?
Is he stashing chips from other tournements ?
Is the tournement director chipping him up ?

best thing to do is to talk to the TD and get them to have a look at things

Totally agree with Des on this one.

If you happen to see the same guys sitting together again prior to the start bring it to the TD's attention b4 the tourney so he is aware of your concerns.

Nothing wrong with same ppl sitting together, that's perfectly acceptable and within the rules.

If one or both of them are being a bit suss tho then absolutely quietly suggest it to the TD.
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

CHEATING?? Image
dude thats not Kool
hhmmm... what venue was this at? :o

I like the idea of two TDs

you know its like Alex always says "all chip ups should be done AT THE TABLE in front of all the other players" :D that way no problems...
if you play at his venues there is never problems like dat...Image

I have noticed some similar happenings as well this season. My points for discussion are...

What do you do if you think the TD is involved in the 'chipping up' of other players??

It seems to depend on 'who you are' as to how many chips you get if you are lucky enough to win a draw...

Should players not attending the venue be allowed to be registered??

I am looking for other players feedback on this because last week when someone handed in their second card they were given 2000 in chips, when they said something to the TD the player was basically to 'shut up and I wont tell anyone if you dont'. Puts an honest player in a very awkward situation doesn't it??
I respect the poker gods, I think that's why they are nice to me!!!

I don't believe it is that awkward a situation. If any TD is caught doing this they are instantly dismissed. I would highly recommend emailing me with the details of this incident.
