More from PARAFIELD GARDENS CC & Some BIG NEWS for next seas

Postby Tim Harry » Thu Feb 21, 2008 1:16 pm

Hi again poker players, hope the cards have been falling your way lately.

Here's some more pics & names to the faces at PGCC. Sorry about some of the shots being a bit blurry, I'll make sure I stand still next time (or learn how to use my camera phone better!)

It was another great turn-out last night - 92 runners!! We really want to break that 100 barrier and then smash the numbers next season. It really is a fantastic place to play with a great atmosphere & some fantastic poker being played. Which leads me to the BIG NEWS for next season.........

PARAFIELD GARDENS COMMUNITY CLUB - Season 2 2008
* 10 week season
* First game: Wednesday 19th March 2008
* Rego: 6.30 Start : 7.30
* Prizes: 1st $100 cash & 2nd $50 cash
* + end of season playoff between the Wednesday & Sunday top 25 for a Poker Table & Chipset.

That's right folks, Greg has come to the party for next season & is offering up cash prizes for 1st & 2nd for the Wednesday game. He is also giving away an 8 seater poker table & chipset at the end of the season. The Top25 from the Wednesday game & The Top25 from the Sunday game will play off at the end of the season for the venue prize!!! Sound Good??!!!

If we can get the numbers up on the Sunday arvo game then there's no reason more & more prizes won't be offered up. Greg is completely behind what the NPL is doing & understands what the players want - $3 per stamp, cheap meals, drink specials....and another great thing is for just $10 you can become a member at Parafield & save 10% of all your meal & drink purchases for a full year. Pays for itself in a couple of games!!!

Truth of the matter is, we want to host the biggest regular season NPL tournament in SA. We want to bust the roulette numbers & Pooraka bountry game numbers. But to do this we need your input.....tell us what floats your boat.
*** What would get you there on a Wednesday next season?
*** What do you think of the $$$'s & prizes for next season?
*** Would you like to see a bounty game or regular bounty prizes?
*** Would you like the chance to smash Garth's K4 off?
You tell me, I tell Greg & all together we will try to put together the best Wednesday night in town.

Now time for some more photos.

Thanks for taking the time to check out this post. If you can't make it to Parafield in the next three weeks 'cause your chasing points at your regular Wednesday night venue then make sure that you pencil in the PGCC for next seasons Wednesday nighter...you won't be dissapointed....especially if we've got 120+ points on offer. Don't forget the Sunday game as well. 1pm rego, 2pm start. Let's get the numbers up on that one as well so we can convince to give away even more bigger & better prizes.

Cheers guys, Tim.

Well done Tim

Parafield Gds is definately in my top 2 venues.
Great crowd, Fun people, Excellent TD (Mark Too)
Not forgetting the Parafield Gdns Management & Staff who are top class

One aspect i would like to see brought in is an every player bounty where each player pays $1 and receives a card and whoever knocks them out gets their card and cashes in at the end of the night. Similar to what Karl does at the Parafield Airport. I think it would make for some interesting fun.

(Unfortunately as with every great event there is always one bad apple. So the jerk who stole my 4WD spare wheel cover. WHEN I GET YOU, YOUR ASS IS MINE IF YOU DONT RETURN IT ASAP)

Goose, I dont think the $1 bounty would be able to be done. as things would be seen as paying $1 to enter a tournament.

It's fine if the venue puts up prize money... but as soon as players start to pay then it becomes illegal.

Another great post Tim.

It's good to see a top TD doing more than is expected from him.

Both Tim and Mark who also does the Sunday games with Dakota, put in the extra time and effort to make it work.

Many thanks must also go to our Venue operator Greg.

He always listens to suggestions, wants to know what other venues are offering and is prepared to make changes.

Hence, the additional incentives for the top 25 from each of PG's venues. Well done Greg, great idea and a great incentive.

Now if you think I'm sucking out for something your dreaming. LOL.

No, name called out to get the extra chips or called back in!!!!

No, free drinks other than ice water unless you hit the pokie room!!!!

No, extra chips!!!! Especially after going allin on pocket friggin 8's and getting smashed by pocket kings and to rub it in he trips up on the river!!!!

WHAT WAS I THINKING????????

DON'T FORGET TO GET YOUR MEMBERSHIP AND SAVE AND YOUR FOOD AND DRINKS GUYS & GALS
