If it cannot be shown that the universe made itself, then one must accept the existence of a creator of said universe. Because it clearly does exist, and got here somehow.

It's like if I walk down the street and see a house, and since I can't prove the house created itself, I must logically believe something created it somehow, because it's there.

Once again, I go back to, if God created the house, because going by your logic, it's only logical that he did, who created God, he can't just exist just as the house can't, someone had to have created him, who was that?

You can go back to it, but don't expect a different answer to the one I gave you the first time.

Yes, he can exist in a way that other things can't.

There was never a time that God did not exist, so God was never created.

All other things in the universe have a moment of creation.

Don't mix God up as "just another entity in the universe". It's not just another entity, It's a unique entity.

And there's nothing wrong with that when it comes to God. It's a belief. Something need not be proved to be believed.

I believe in a creator, in the absence of any other explanation acceptable to me (just because)

I believe It has always existed and was never created, because that is my opinion as to It's nature (just because)

Of course "just because" is always the answer. There is no other possible answer! That is the nature of belief. Do you want me to prove It exists or something?!

It would no longer be a belief then, it would be a fact.

God's existence is obviously a fact in my mind, but this does not make it an objective fact.

You're merely making an observation, not a criticism. And I agree your observation is correct. But it does nothing to reduce the validity of anything I have said.

God needs someone batting for him.

I'm not a "God-botherer" in the traditional sense of the word though. I don't attend Church, I don't follow a particular religion. I don't even believe there is value in religion.

I merely believe in the existence of God.

Because religion is taken out of the equation, I don't need to get all hot and bothered about defending my God's honour against all critics. All I'm doing is defending the basis of my belief. And that doesn't produce any anger.
