I too am surprised at Eugene being placed where he is on the leader board, however, if you are willing to play 66 games in 6 weeks you probably should be allowed some sort of bragging rights to say you made top 50!!! - although placing in only 23 of those games, about a 30% hit rate i think tells more :-) !!!

i would say a 30% strike rate is pretty good, if the fields are 50 and up, i would be asking him what kind of strategy he is using.

Another player who hasn't surprised me as such (because I know he's a top player) but has done extremely well this season is Des Beaty.

Currently sits 30th in the top 50 after playing only 21 games. 11 final tables (or there abouts) in 21 games...

Nice round there Des, Seems your end game strategy needs a little tweaking though. Averaging around 8th spot. Must have been that first win that did it to you.

Must be mentioned that his results are across a wide range of playing fields. I think is good, mainly because he subjects his game to a lot of different conditions.
