I had a great day today. Had a nice stack on the HR FT but opponent hit a two outer to knock me out. Lost two flips for massive pots today was 4th or 5th in the Challenge semi AK v QQ in a ~70K pot which would have put me in the lead. Then AJ v 10 10 on a J high board with 10 falling on the river. I am hopefully keeping my luck in flips for the GF.

Was nice to finally meet a few people. Garth, Brett and Michael ran a very professional and well organised event. Brett worked the microphone like a pro.

Mike is a cool bloke in real life with a contagious laugh lol Met a few others including regulars Tanya Puppa and her hubby, Leon shooterafc, 666harps, 15gizmo and a few others. Fleur why didn't you tell me you were you???

Looking forward to tomorrow if I can wake up with daylight savings!

good to see a few of you really on your game. Well done to all the winners. If I can get out of bed in time will be there tomorrow (it is a long drive from Bendigo and I forgot about day light savings) I wish you all the best of luck , not that I think you need it with all of you marvelous skill. Hope none of you are suck out magnets and that the poker gods are on your side. Also just remember that as a female I am very vulnerable and need you to go gentle (fancy one of the chip leaders today being a female! Next thing you know they will let us vote lol)
Good luck and see you on the felt.

It was nice to put faces to online names. Tanya is really lovely!

Trishan I only realised you were you at the HR table after the whole conversation between tables about having 'nplking' at the table! I was going to wait to the next break to chat to you and say hi, but then I got knocked out! LOL!

A record field turned out for the 888PL Foundation Semi - 440 runners! I arrived to a long queue going from the registration booth right out onto the street. I don't think anyone expected it to be that big with the start time delayed by about 45 minutes as there were not enough chairs.

The atmosphere in the room was electric as the TD ordered players to shuffle up and deal. The winner of the challenge event yesterday was on my table and was involved in a sick hand first up. The money went in on the turn with the board reading:

AXX J

The challenge semi winner went all in for 5k with AJ but was insta-called by an oppenent who rollled AA. What a start!

Another day another lost coin flip for me. I was down to about 2k at one stage but grinded my stack back up to a respectable 17k. The antes and blinds were rising faster than Castar Semenya the South African he-she sprinter and I needed to make a move or get blinded out.

With blinds 1000/2000 with a 200 ante, I Pushed UTG with 10 10 and got called by an oppnent who had me slightly covered with AK. An Ace fell on the flop and I finished about 110/440 which isn't terrible but again I felt I was playing good poker but lost on a flip - AGAIN.

Mikey had a bad day. He was shortstacked with just under 2k but managed to steal a few pots and work his way back up to about 8k. He pushed 88 preflop the hand before the break and was called by an opponent who said he had had enough of Mike's stealing blinds. The oppenent had a King which hit on the river to send Bionic Mike, "half man half machine" (his own words) packing.

Just as I was about to head home for the day I saw him having a "tilt smoke" as he got knocked out very early in the cash buy-in game. He is heading back to Geelong having cashed for $500 yesterday and still has a chance to win a seat to the Joe Hachem/Shane Warne celebrity game.

I ran uber Hot in the $1 online sit n go! Now that is my turf.....Laptops setup for sit n gos is a great idea. Apparently puts me in a draw for the Hachem/Warnie Bounty tournie! Equity!

Nett profit for the weekend but rather disappointed. Was in the zone again today before the 3 outer ruined my day! I had him just where I wanted him...

Anyway, been a fun season. Good luck to everyone at GF. I'll prob see you guys in the Online Champs on the 30th. I'll be buying into the $22 and the $55. Just gonna have to settle for an Aussie Millions seat instead of the Adelaide package!
If you ask me, Muhammed Ali in his prime was much better than anti lock brakes.

Finished in the top 40 which I was happy with (39th I think). Always love these experiences as they help me grow as a player. I usually do so bad at state finals and I have slowly been getting better at each one. Upped my agression to a reasonable level when I needed to and stopped talking at the table (which friends tell me is my biggest weakness).
Even when I was card dead for a whole session I managed to pick up enough to keep me in there. For the most part I avoided marginal situations even though most of them if I called I would have won. Played a couple of stupid hands late in the tournament with my husband standing right behind me which just made it worse. Was short stacked but not overly but had convinced myself that I needed to pick up a pot quick. Pushed all in for the first time of the tournament and then next thing you know I was out. Should have been more patient as it wasn't a great hand and I was really out of position. I should have waited for a better hand but there you go. As I said it is all experience and I know for next time.
Hope to hear how a few other players went and am now really looking forward to Adelaide.
