888PL Grand Final Qualifiers - as at 8/09/2009 - Discussion

Postby AceLosesKing » Tue Sep 08, 2009 6:01 pm

I count another 65 seats to be won, which would add another $32,500 to the prizepool. Does this mean that these 65 seats have already be added to the prizepool? And what would happen if you somehow got over 100k? Would you start to restrict entries or are you guys going for as many as you can?

The 65 seats are included in the calculations for the prize pool right now, hence why the prize pool is guaranteed at $92,000.

We will definitely start restricting entries at some stage. This was always expected to be a 200 player tourney max, exclusive tournament with decent prize money on the line.

This can always be re evaluated though, but this season I do not expect us to breach further than 200 players, we may possibly allow up to 10 alternates.

Does it need be? Its a general question to 888pl head honcho's, but it also allows for discussion. There's no "General 888pl" section ;)

Edit: Ok, thought so. Just wanted to check.

What demand do you expect to be there for people wanting to buy in directly for this tournament? How will that affect calculations for seats available etc...

I already have 8 requests for direct buy in.

I would expect 30 seats would be the limit on direct buy ins.

If there is a huge demand I would consider increasing the cap to 240.

I'm eligible for the semi finals but if I don't win a GF ticket I would like the option of buying one, hopefully there will be a few available at the end of that weekend.
Please note that I am NOT the World Champ, Australian Champ, SA champ or even the Adelaide Hills champ so any advice I give must be taken with tonne of salt :P
