Anyway, the 888PL is like a septic tank; the really big chunks will always rise to the top eventually!

Re: Dream Team Race - Kleemann Under Attack
Some movement from yesterdays result. Bionic mike finished 6th in the 11pm freeroll. moving his average to 225.18
ALK is holding steady.
Mustapha should also be moving a bit further up with good results yeterday including a placing in the freeroll.
Not too certain of the others.
For those playing at home and are wondering.
To improve their scores.
ALK - Needs - 129.10
BionicMike - Needs 136+
Octawebb - Needs 123
Roytrudgey - Needs 140

Even though I have made the final table two days in a row without using a passport, I am happy to stand by my statement. Your proposition sounds like a good one. Shall we agree on the following terms:
*Game must have more than 60 players
*You can only use a maximum of 1 passport for an additional 1000 chips
Explain to me any tournament scenario (structure, start stack, amount of runners, etc....) where luck does not play some part AND have a profound impact on results. Luck is undefinable as a general mathematical or statistical quantity.
Even though the impact "luck" can have on your tournament results can be modified via tournament structure I do believe that comparing both online and live freeroll environments you will find that there is almost an equal amount of luck involved in both scenarios. Each environment has both their positives and negatives and whilst there are many discerning factors in the way a tournament, and each individual, progresses; each environment provides different solutions to the same problems faced.
Why the limit on passports used? What's the thinking behind this?
I just think that less luck required online than offline due to the fact that offline you get much fewer hands in per level and the structure is as fast as or faster than online.
In my race to get my 10 away games I have played at a few different venues and met a few different people from the young to the very old, from the rich to the very poor and I know that not everyone can afford to spend $20 for two passports. So I think 1 passport is within the reach of most so this is why I suggested one passport.

Re: Dream Team Race - Kleemann Under Attack
what about a dream team made up of:
have separate leaderboards for home freeroll, home challenge, away freeroll, away challenge and an overall leaderboard.
reward the best player overall, plus the top players from each of the other leaderboards
instead of having a 20k overall leaderboard, maybe have a 3k leaderboard for each category, with 8k left over for the overall one.
that way, you reward a spread of people, not just the online freeroll guns.
i think that this would be easier to implement than changing the points system

Re: Dream Team Race - Kleemann Under Attack
That kind of goes to what I said the other day benny the cunt.
If you had a 3k leaderboard for all the above - where's the incentive to play anything other than the crapshoot 150 or 200 runner freerolls?
What my point (redundant, lol) was the other day - is that if everyone has the attitude of playing just the free online component, there will be no prizepools generated in the end.

yeah. what better way to build the challenge component (both online and live) than to have exclusive leaderboards attached to them.

I don't like it.
We are an integrated league, as previously stated, and we want to reward the best players who performs consistently across all disciplines of this league.

By making these events a qualification protocol of the Dream Team or to award more base points for these events than a freeroll.
I don't see how individual 3K leader boards drive more players to experience different events and environments. And there will never be a leader board rewarding those who play online freerolls.
I think a re vamped dream team score board with over $35,000 in prizes and experiences on offer with a qualification criteria that encompasses all aspects of the competition and is calculated on the the average of the best ten in venue and ten online results drives more volume and more players into the challenge arena.
Add a weighting system with points multipliers added to particular events and possibly a handicapping system based on games played and average field size and I do believe we are getting close to an equitable solution.
Of course, just about everything listed above will come into effect in 2010 except maybe for the handicapping system. That would take a lot of time to calculate and devise and we still wish to reward volume play in some way.
