Re: AFL Discussion 2009
Sampi's mark in '04 was better than moorcroft i reckon, but this one tops the lot. The best mark i have seen - along with Modra against Richmond that day he kicked 13 or something. I don't rate Shaun Smith's mark that highly. Yes he got some height, but jumping over a large pack of players like Burton's and Modra's is much more difficult i think - which is why i don't rate moorcrofts as high either.
Riskers gamble, experts calculate.

Re: AFL Discussion 2009
im with steve on this one
Moorcroft's grab was the best i have ever seen and i doubt will be beaten
he actually got his feet ontop of his opponent ( birdman was all knees), stoodup then jumped up and back, there was daylight between his feet and the bloke he rode.
Simply incredible mark

Does anyone know how to make money playing uno vs 6 year olds, its about the only card game i get to play these days.

Re: AFL Discussion 2009
Moorcroft's mark was great, but nowhere near the best. He did NOT have his feet that high, his knees were up there. He was assisted (in how good it was) by Brad Johnson falling forward, giving the illusion he was higher than he was because for a fair while he was almost floating once he got the ride. Excellent mark but not the best. The best part of Moorcrofts mark was the stretch once he was there, similar to Aaron Edwards' mark against Port this weekend - Edwards didn't get THAT high but the stretch always makes a mark look good.
I have a lot of time for Chris Tarrant's huge pack mark 2 or 3 years ago (I think) on the 50m line. I like the marks that have someone running for that far back, very impressive.
The problem with Burton's mark on the weekend was the camera angles - none of them do it 100% justice. Brilliant mark though. I saw him take one similar but not rewarded (hands in the back, pfft) against Essendon, over Dustin Fletcher I think at the Northern end of footy park.
I don't rate Modra's mark against North Melbourne as his best, I'm a big fan of his mark over Richard Champion up north on the goal line.
One of my favourite Brett Burton marks is against Fremantle, on the wing of all places where he basically leapfrogs Andrew Wills (I think) hardly touching him - and makings to snare it.
Want to see a good mark? I saw this one live.. and also put it on YouTube. BEST mark I've ever seen in person (and almost ever). Apologies for the quality:

I think Brett Burton's mark would be considered better if he had the camera angels that Tim Inkster had.

Re: AFL Discussion 2009
that last mark is pretty sick, pretty similar to burton's actually.
and moorcroft's has nothing on some of the others mentioned here, even though its an awesome mark in itself
