That wasnt even from this thread, and Garth is talking about the Grand Final. Not qualifying for the semi-finals from multiple venues (which is what this thread is about)

I didnt say it was from this thread. I know where it came from. I found it and quoted it, you see.

To recap:

I asked Garth for some clarifaction.

You jumped in, talking about how I asked the same question twice. (how I did that in one post, I'll never know)

And now where stuck in some sort of childish back and forth banter.

Multiple seats awarded into semi finals to a qualifier are voided and not able to be transferred.

Multiple seats won into the Grand Final (which have an intrinsic value of $500 each) are transferable or the qualifier is able to hold additional seat over for future Grand Finals.

Although Matt might have been a bit harsh, this thread was in regards to Finals which you qualify into - the Semi Finals.

The Grand Final seats can only be won and there is no qualification criteria for this event, rather you must win tournaments (direct entry rebuys, challenge events, monthly qualifying final, etc....) or be the lucky recipient of a venue promotion, that is willing to purchase a seat and give them away via raffle or some other promotion.

Just my 2c, but it doesnt seem right that people with more than one ticket can use it for the GF of the following season...
This kind of thing never happens in other sports?
What is the reasoning behind allowing this?
It seems it would be better (for the current season) to not allow this, as this would increase the prizepool for that season, as I assume any tickets won, but not used this season detract from the prizepool?

To my logic, a season should be fully 'self contained', for want of better way of expressing it...

Your 2c is currently valued at 0.01c! Just Kiddng.

The problem I see with this is that all GF seats have an intrinsic value of $500. I would prefer the original recipient able to use all seats won at other times rather than forcing them to transfer their seats.

This forced transfer would also create a "black market" of sorts for assitional seats won, I am sure this type of market will be created but with the current legislation the damage may be reduced.

Something else I would like to mention, yes we identify the game as poker as a sport, yes we do run a seasonal calendar and yes we do have leader boards. But it doesn't mean that what we do has to decided on what goes on in regular sporting competitions. We may identify our Seasonal Main Event as a Grand Final but what Grand Final are you aware of that allows teams to buy there way in directly to? Or win one game and you automatically qualify for the Grand Final?

And to be quite honest I would rather see players keep on trying for multiple tickets throughout a season rather than give up after winning one. At this moment it looks like we are cruising towards a prize pool of 75K for the Grand Final.

So we can keep multiple GF seats won for next seasons' event? Awesome.

Points taken Garth.
I only just learned this was the case last night and at first it seemed odd to me is all...
My main thinking was summed in the last statement I made, but I understand the reasoning...

ALK, maybe now you wished you;d kept that 2nd ticket? ;)

I have. And probably won't be selling it now.
