I have seen similar things written about other activities people are extremely passionate about and/or spend a lot of time doing.
It is basically infering that men are 'cheating' on their wives, not with another woman, but with Poker, by spending so much time on/at it.
Like Poker is their Mistress, the other love in their life.
One of my other passions is racing high performance dinghies, and there actually is a boat I have raced against called "The Other Woman"...
Apologies for the political incorrectness of this post, but the issue already is gender specific
