thanks garth. thats what i thought, but just making sure

what if a dealer starts cutting it in stacks of 10 for another player, without being asked?

(you would prolly be a tool, but) are you within your rights to tell the dealer to stop this and just leave them stacked in denominations?

not saying i would ever do this, just a hypothetical.

You are well within your rights, as this may affect the outcome of the hand.
But be advised you will be known as THE TOOLBOX for the remainder of the night

benny the cunt is used to that anyway

its a nice surprise when someone doesnt call me a tool :P

my pet hate is people not being able to shuffle and deal correctly, and otherwise not learning the general etiquette.

i.e
pre-burning cards

riffling, then turning the cards in such a way so that everyone on the table sees the two bottom cards when they push the two stubs together

taking a card off the deck and looking at it before they put it down

dealing the card in a way that if you look carefully, you can see the card dealt to other players.

giving people change when there is still action to come.

letting people not in the hand take change out of the pot.

not collecting the pot after each betting round

even worse is when i politely tell them the correct way to do it, and they say "its free poker, get over it"

AAAAAARRRRRRGH

+1 to all of that.

I do so enjoy the blank look on peoples faces when they're asked if they know why they're even burning cards to begin with.

Just in case some of you don't know, the answer is not "because you have to".
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

You sorta have to, Pete :)

Two players all in pre-flop, you still burn cards. Not because of marked cards et al, but because you just have to! ;)

Well done David :)

WHY they have to is what seems to escape them, especially as they are laying them out early all nice and neat in pretty patterns so everyone can see them.

It's not something that should all be done at once as though it's a chore and they'd like it out of the way :)

benny the cunt - I like the justification of calling pre with K4 that I heard last night...... "I hit 2 pair" <cue facepalm>.
