In RED is how it seems to me...
AJG - Here's a hand that I played, what do you think? NOT ABOUT THE HAND, BUT ABOUT THE BEHAVIOUR MY PLAY ELICITED AND HOW HIPPOCRITICAL IT SEEMED (it WAS in response to others posting about odd comments from other players)
Ben/Matt - Don't like it, this is why
AJG - Yeah, but this is why I did it YES, AS THE HAND ITSELF SEEMED TO BECOME THE TOPIC OF SUBSEQUENT POSTS
Ben/Matt - And this is why I wouldn't play like that
AJG - But I'm right NO, MY POINT WAS MISSED AND INSTEAD LATCHED ON TO HOW I PLAYED THE HAND (I have tried twice now to redirect TO my point, and also said, "Im not trying to convince you of anything": ie say I am RIGHT)
B/M - But I'm right THERE IS NEVER RIGHT/WRONG IN POKER (well, not often)
repeat ad naseum.
I don't have a problem with a 'feeler' bet. See where you are, someone calls, you figure you are behind, and can fold... better than someone setting a trap on you. I wouldn't use it every time, but it can be used.
EXACTLY WHAT I SAID
Is this a bad beat?

She took so much offense to it, she mentioned to everyone that came to the table afterward.
My fav thing was the bet sizing preflop (10-15xBB standard for an opening raise), followed by the call from the SB/BB/limper for ...... actually, I'm not sure, but they claimed it was because they always did that. stack size, FTW!

THESE are the post I was replying to, which are NOT hand discussions....

Re: Is this a bad beat?
but.....
"There's no right or wrong way to play a hand"
That is of course, complete bs.
If someone wants to put thought into a hand and act on that thought - good on them, and NOBODY should have a problem with that and if you don't agree with them or would do it differently that really is stiff cheese.
I think we can all agree that the time to tell someone all about it is when they deliberately refuse to put ANY thought into it and then proceed to claim that YOU did something wrong should they lose.
So for this example of what AJG wasn't talking about - there's nothing wrong with a feeler bet, if that's what you wish to do. If you don't want to, don't do one.
It's similar to the previous discussion on snap calling with ATC in that allin situation. If you don't want to, you don't have to and you will still live.

Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

Is it? (and remember I did say 'hardly ever' not never)
Pete, if there ware always a right or wrong way to play the bots would have us everytime (not being prone to human error)...
Am I wrong to try to bluff a pot when Im way behind (but of course I don't know that innocuous looking 4 made his set)?
Is it right to always make a preflop raise with AA?
Of course not, EVERYTHING in poker is situationally dependent.
Sometimes limping with AA is the best play, sometimes raising preflop is...

So its complete BS that there is no right or wrong way to play a hand, but you dont have to do what you dont want to?
Isnt this completely contradictory?

I really wish that one word 'feeler' had not been included in that original post...

You could bet that Ondie would feel, and that it would be wrong.
