tell you that this was discussed at length in other threads and garth personally put on this forum that the equipment fee charge would no longer be charged and this was a good month ago.

We have been aware of this move from SkyCity for some time. I am not overly concerned about this direction, we have worked closely with the OLGC to ensure that we are not doing anything illegal or that may be in breach of legislation.

The enforcement arm of the OLGC asked us to remove the equipment hire fee from our buy in events. We did this immediately upon their request.

As I cant find reliable, up to date info anywhere on the forums or 888pl website, it would be helpful if exact information regarding these CBI events was published.

I think you're reading too much into that. There was the possibility of the EHF being interpretted as a rake, so we simply removed that possibility until the legislation is cleared up.

If I was going to quote you, I would have. As I said, It's super turbo pub poker. If you want to call it a crapshoot, that's fine. You obviously have your own thoughts on the game structure. All I ask is that you actually experience the game for yourself before breaking down and analysing the format. Looking at a structure is sometimes different than experiencing it.

If opeining hours are what 'hamstrings' you, then I suggest you try for more weekend games that begin much earlier. I played another league $25 deepstack event, where allup players had a $20K (10 + 10 with stamped cards) stack, it started at 1pm and was over by 7pm, with no antes and a much more relaxed structure. Although I cant remember exactly what that structure was in the later levels I will do my best to reprouce it here:

I've played one of these games as well (40 runners, 800000 in play max), it still becomes a "crap shoot". When blinds are 3000/6000 with 15 players left and an average stack of 53000, you start getting into jam/fold territory anyway.

Games like this will be coming, and when it happens hopefully we will do a better job than the one I experienced.

That said, not every CBI can be run on a Saturday/Sunday arvo. There will be still be weeknight games that can only run for 3 1/2 hours. No avoiding that.
