Re: Biggest non-thinking player idiotic tourney I have ever seen

Instant call from me everytime. I would call with 2 7, 2 9, 3 7 (the 3 7 is the premium one from a bad bunch) etc anytime in this situation. I played a $3 or $5 tourney the other night on a 888pl and ran into a simular situation where I had to know he was stronger than me pre flop. I threw out a pot sized position raise of $1375 or there abouts to be reraised $300 (he went all in) or there abouts extra by the big blind. A K or A Q suited sprang straight to mind and I instantly called with 5 7 of diamonds, he missed I hit a 7 he said "Christ!" and was gone...........one step closer to the money!

On a side note:

What's with the new catch craze "non thinking player"? Did a pro say it somewhere because it is ghey as hell!! Every mongaloid on the planet is going around saying it and I find it annoying as chit. Just because a player thinks of the game in a different way than you do, has a different stradegy of the game than you do, is not as experienced as you maybe think you are or is maybe even mildly retarded doesn't mean they're a "non-thinking" (grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr) player. What it means is you did not size your opponent up properly and realize he/she is a lucker player and you should maybe expect a bad beat from them. You expected them to play a hand like you would/should play a hand. Boohoo to you, who is really the "non thinking" (arrrrgh fkfkfkf) player here?

On here "non thinking player" is a result of our swear filter.

If you don't like it, that's kinda too bad :)

Early in the days of NPL a lot of people learned a new word and promptly used it at every single opportunity they could to describe every single situation in which they lost a hand.

NPL said 'that's quite enough of that' (in part for the reasons just outlined, funnily enough) and we assisted with putting the D word in our swear filter.

With reference to this site only, it's got nothing to do with how anyone did anything. It's purely a word swap.
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

i think he means d-onkey not "non thinking player"

also, can i report people to management for calling people that?

dude thought i was a massive one, because he limped with AJ and then had to fold when i shoved on him with A9

i was actually a bit annoyed about the abuse, and i didn't think it was warranted

can we as players report people that are abusive?

ill pm you if you want garth

You're probably right there benny the cunt.

I'm at work and only skim read it.

Doesn't hurt for people to understand why that's how it is I suppose.

Yes Acehole, 'non-thinking player' is not my choice of words, and it seems it takes ANY word starting with d.onk and replaces it with non-thinking player cos I originally typed the title of this thread as Biggest d.onkament, idiotic ... idiotic was a bit redundant there I suppose, I shouldve put more thought into the title cos one of the things about this tourney (that I mention early in the thread) was that not once when it was allin preflop did I see the best hand holdup! it was incredible! (but noone seems to have commented on this)

And benny the cunt, each to their own, but at times I have found the strategy of prolonging the bubble by keeping the short stack alive very efffective in increasing my chip lead over the medium stacks by the time the bubble does burst.

In one tournament, by 4 players, I was only chip leader by about 2.5:1 over the closest stack, but by keeping the SS in play and attacking the MS, by the time the bubble burst I was an 8:1 chip leader...
Image ...11.59% of bad beat stories are just misplayed hands ...

i understand the concept, but i just think that its better to bust the short stack first, and then just attack the mid stacks anyway!

I understand the concept and I think its stupid. If you have the right cards to call at the right odds, do it.
