If there are points awarded and they went towards a scoreboard that was for the current season that the Main Event was physically held in, no real dramas.
I am of course ignoring that the Main Event in question was only able to be participated in (for the large part) from the previous seasons efforts.
I am also ignoring that it would effectively kill the scoreboard in question as I can't see it mattering too much how well performed they were in the other 14 qualifying games. Whoever wins the Main Event effectively has it in the bag.
So I guess what I'm really saying is it's feckin STUPID to have it count on any of the current scoreboards.
That's not to say there shouldn't be some kind of recognition for such an achievement, because there definitely should be.
Maybe something like an end of season Honour Roll (which of course couldn't be done until the Main Event has been completed) ?
As a suggestion, could maybe list all those that cashed/placed in the different events over the Championship Weekend and also maybe list all of the individual venue (home and away) winners. Perhaps also the different overall region winners etc.
From that you could perhaps dish out some titles such as "Most likely to not have a life" (ok so that one is a joke... ok ok SEMI joke). I can't think of anything awesome off the top of my head but I'm sure Garth/Tim etc could come up with some spiffy titles.
Also, because the seasons are only <x> weeks long you could collate all of those Honour Rolls from a calendar year and then do one larger Honour Roll.
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!
