I think what Garth is getting at is there is a core group of 20 or so people on here who offer their opinions.
I think he needs a wider ranging opinion of the NPL playing group.
Maybe offer an option.
Entry to a draw for 5 auto entries to state finals
(This will get the 1-2 game a week players interested)
and
Offer some prizes of some sort (i.e. books etc)
(This to keep the hardcore group interested)

Re: We want your input!
There does seem to be only the minority who come onto the forum amd give up their opinion.... As far as the survey handed out at rego table goes; in Vic we did this at the end of 2007 to try and gauge what the players wanted in terms of prize structure for 2008, and with every player at the rego table being handed one as well as 4 left on every poker table we only recieved 7 survey forms per 100 players in the venues I worked at, and my co workers submitted nearly the same amounts.

Grant
I think a direct link to the forum from the victoria site would help with some feedback on to this forum.
This is my idea on how to get people to complete a survey.
With the passport stamps hand out a survey with two different questions on each week. No one is going to fill out a long survey but two questions each week I think should be okay.
One open question (what can NPl do to improve?, what do you think of the passport idea?
one closed question. (how many times do you play?) (How many chips should you start with? Should the blinds time length be increased?) (On the final table should the blinds be wound back a structure so more action? Yes/No)
For the compeleted survey they get 250 chips each question answered.
The surveys are Anonymous to a point though you would know what venues have submitted.

Hell that sounds like a top idea sunbury. Don't know what other think, but that sounds like a simple way, change the questions month to month, do it the first week of each month, or even the 2nd or 3rd. Get a snapshot at any one time.

Re: We want your input!
The venues need to give better weekly prizes and possibly a end of season prize for the leader to go along with new introduced trophy.

Re: We want your input!
(VIc. Thread) It would strike me that as TD's, that we are at the forefront of the request's, preference's, discrepencies, like's and dislike's of the Npl regular's (that is who we are speaking of, yeah?- regarding opinion's) so it doesn't just dawn on me it smack's me in the mouth (you know! I like it) every time I am in front of a player that is disgruntled-get them on side, enthusiastic-promote them, confused- educate them, excited-run with them etc.. It is our responsibility as contractors to be part of making this league

WE KNOW WHAT THE PEOPLE WANT -they ear bash us. Let's get this information flowing
.
Request's/Responses-
* Sunday afternoon games
* Cash prizes (Vic)
* Allocted tables
In saying that, I will continue to post minor or major thought's and request from players and director's alike- it's not exactly what you know ..it's who you know...rriiighht! (or was it 'WHO YOU KNOW THAT'S IN THE KNOW?)

Even tho I am always happy to fill in surveys in any format, I think sunbury's idea is right on the money.

Re: We want your input!
1. One open question (what can NPl do to improve? Answer: Dunno
2. What do you think of the passport idea? Answer: Crappo
3. How many times do you play poker?) Answer: Play with my poker all the time?
4. How many chips should you start with? Answer 20 billion
5. Should the blinds time length be increased?) Answer: Dunno
6. On the final table should the blinds be wound back a structure so more action? Yes/No Answer: Maybe
If you offer chips as a reward you will get retarded responses. I imagine you would be going for quality surveys and you'll only get quality surveys from people who care.....not from people who fill in a survey to get a reward.
If you wanted to reward people for thier comments have "Garth Vader" pick a top 5 for the month/quarter etc etc and announce the people names to give ownership to the idea and not the feeling of a great idea stolen. It would of course be nice for 888pl to then act on the feedback so people get the feeling that they are being heard. I don't know how many times I have heard people talk about allocated seating and seeing tables being "reserved" by other players when 3/4 of the table had not even registered. I have been sidelined as a reserve in this situation!! One particular table has been referred to as the Pensioners table at a certain RSL and god help you at the pensioners table, they (the pensioners) all sit around and play nice and tell each other basicly what they have to keep each other in the game. If a "pensioner" player actually went out at this table from either being blinded out or dying of old age, the TD would throw you on there to your demise......if you didn't take 4 minutes looking at your hand for your brain to work and didn't smell like old cardboard and mothballs you were sneered at. I digress but point is allocated tables problem solved.
If you want quality surveys and input from players act on previous surveys and explain to players at the start of the night if there has been a change and the change is because of THEM. I highlight them because it tells players that they are being heard and thier responses are being taken seriously and acted on. The question 888pl should really be asking is;
Why don't people want to take part in our surveys? I'll take a pot shot at the answer:
Answer: Because nothing is acted on (or at least the little things like allocated seating)
I could crap on and on but I think my last paragraph sums up my point, give players ownership of the decisions in the league and name them (if appropriate). If people want to remain anonymous why not leave it as with any survey NAME: BLANK. simple

Re: We want your input!
pretty funny response and welcome to the forum ace hole
firstly, i would probably say that the whole idea of surveys is probably on the back burner at the moment while 888pl are busy relaunching and getting everything organised.
secondly, this forum is about the best medium possible for the management to hear our grievances. you will find lots of posts asking for things to be improved (i.e dead stacks in the online games) and management is always happy to help. look in the "ask 888pl" section of the forum for lots more.
the idea of the survey was to try and reach out to those that dont frequent the forum. we at the forum have always had direct access to garth, tim, and others which is awesome, and there has been a lot that has come from it. i think the idea for the teams events and the berri deepstack started on the forum.
so if you want your ideas heard, post away!! we all love a mass-debate on this forum.
lastly, for what its worth, i dont think they will ever change to allocated seating for the freeroll tournaments, and personally, i dont think they should. part of the attraction of pub poker is the fact that you can sit with your mates and just have fun. results are secondary. sure, in a challenge (cash buy in) game, allocated seating is a good idea, but not in freerolls.
