On this note, making the right move is what matters in the long run. Don't be concerned with the results of one particular hand. Poker is about making less mistakes than your opponents, and making sure that you let them make more mistakes than you.

exactly right aaron

people that say "i always lose with aces" (or jacks for that matter :P sorry caroline) are sometimes too concerned with the results of an individual hand, rather than the long term outcome of the way they play.

sure your aces might get cracked by 27. and that sucks. but when you analyse the hand, you might start to work out that you didn't raise enough preflop, or when the straight card hit on the turn, you knew you were in trouble but couldn't lay them down, etc etc. so in the long run, you make better decisions if they are based on long term outcomes, not short term luck.

Tried to open your link about starting online and it keeps telling me I can't open a site on weapons of mass destruction.
