Re: 5.50 10k guar on Stars, 2556 runners
Out in 189th. I think I was going broke here, no matter what.
The Chip Leader (Pun) had been f*cking about with raises and calling with like 79, 34s etc, so I thought I'd see a flop.
Even if I'd flatted the flop, I was pushing on the turn. Any thoughts??

Re: 5.50 10k guar on Stars, 2556 runners
long tl;dr im convo about this hand
Bacon says (2:05 AM):
Do you think I could get away from that?
Ben says (2:06 AM):
maybe you shouldn't have shoved on teh flop. but on the turn, you are prolly going broke most of th etime. but i wouldn't have jammed the flop.
maybe if you made a standard raise, and he shoved, you could have put him on a better hand.
Bacon says (2:07 AM):
I think, normally, I see what you are saying, but my read on the guy was he was trying to push people around. I'd seen it a few times already.
Ben says (2:07 AM):
fair enough, reads are def important
Bacon says (2:08 AM):
I think, if I had've flat/3xraise the flop, I would've been jamming the turn. Didn't see him with JT either. I thought he'd hit his Q though. Just not the A as well.
Ben says (2:08 AM):
here is a question for you. would he have called you down with anything you beat?
Bacon says (2:10 AM):
good question.. I don't think I saw enough people raising his bets to have gauged that enough.
Bacon says (2:11 AM):
What you are asking is, what did I think he'd call me jam with?
that wasn't AQ
Ben says (2:11 AM):
yeah, what do you beat that he calling your shove with? i.e is A7 going to call u down?
Ben says (2:12 AM):
this is on the flop i am talking
Bacon says (2:12 AM):
I hadn't really considered that there.
I think I didn't want him to call.
Ben says (2:13 AM):
so you have really turned your hand into a bluff by betting raising all in.
i think your hand is good, but not good enough to get it all in with. this is why i would have just called on teh flop
on the turn, you are prolly going broke either way, thats just bl
Ben says (2:14 AM):
i think lately i try to tell myself, that whenever i raise, what is he possibly going to call with that i beat.
Bacon says (2:14 AM):
yeah, good point. I really only thought "he's only got the Q, I'm good here.. he won't call". Not about "If he's got Q and what, is he likely to call?"
Bacon says (2:15 AM):
I still think the turn would've caused so raising, and re-raising, but fair point, to evaluate the flop, cos that's where I could've possibly got away from it
Ben says (2:15 AM):
yeah, if he has a queen, and u go all in, he folds. if you flat call, and he has something like KQ then he might bet again, and then u get more value out of hands u beat
Bacon says (2:05 AM):
Do you think I could get away from that?
