Generally we like to see all hands finished before the break commences.
My pet hate is when people sit there counting there chips.
Why? I don't know.
Say for instance you are chipped down, bad luck two guys counted it and chipped up or a senior TD. We don't make mistakes even when we do.
And the amount of players I see get confused when counting chips and this results in someone with 10,000 thinking they are sitting on 25,000. "oooh sorry I counted my stacks of ten purples as ten thousand not five thousand. My bad, didn't mean to spend the last ten minutes yelling, screaming and accusing you and everybody else within ear shot of been cheats".

Actually, only reason I do it is to talk about our stacks during the break, seeing where we all are.

Re: Consistency
It does indeed make for a nice topic of conversation. I'm still waiting for that time when I can proudly say I've got a large stack at a break. <sighs>
The website does (or did... haven't had a look recently) say that you are encouraged to watch the chip up though. I guess some people do like to make sure of what they have... even if they do count it wrong!

Will dance for your chips!

lol I think we're all better off pretending that there isn't really a main NPL website
such a joke at the moment.

Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

Ahhh Sydney rules!
What a pleasure to work with those guidelines. Nothing more frustrating than having players looking over your shoulder to make sure you "don't rip them off again".
Your telling me before the last hand or at any stage of the game you have no idea what your chipstack is?

Re: Consistency
i am one of the players that likes everything in nice even piles, so i know exactly how many chips i have at any given time.
but for those people that like to just have their chips in a big pile, and proceed to wait till the break to count it, why not start counting 2 minutes before the break so u can bugger off and let the TDs to their job?
i personally think that if you cant to the chip up in the break time allocated, then increase the length of the break, but dont call the game off early. i always seem to get smacked with the increased big blind when this happens!

Re: Consistency
Poor benny the cunt
Maybe you should look at it from the positive side. Bigger blinds means more in the pot for you to win!!
Just a thought!!

Re: Consistency
thanks for the replies... I guess that the answer is that there is no answer. 'The TDs discretion'.. leads to inconsistency in my opinion but thats life! I think if the blinds are out, lets get another hand in, the breaks are long enough.
And i think plucka you are wildly exaggerating clearing the room... in the many venues i play its cleared in one minute flat, and people even come back early...
we are there to play poker, the only thing a shorted break affects are the scum smokers, and we arent here to cater to addicts!

Re: Consistency
i dont think anyone is gonna care too much which way the TDs wanna do it.
LOL lately i have been very short stacked going into the second break, so those blinds are something i dont wanna be looking at if i can help it
PS: I am not annoyed but my last post sounds like i am. should have edited it
