I think I'll be giving the whole thing a miss and just stick to the two tourny's I qualified for. :)

No offence to NPL but, personally I prefer a simple buyin tourney with a simple rebuy format.

Or maybe even a max of say 2 rebuys in the first hour (say 2 @ $10) and add to that a "simplified standard stamping system" for those who also want to support the venue.

The flight cards would have the same value as if they were additional cash rebuys at $10 for each card filled. Making it a total of $40.00 for 2 rebuys and 2 flight cards plus the cost of the initial buyin.

I realise the flight cards won't boost the prize pool but it will support the venue with additional income to ensure their continued support.

My above thoughts were to keep it affordable for the average punter and a level playing field for those who enjoy a meal and a drink before and during the tourney.

This IS a simple rebuy tourney.

That's how they all work.

Thank you Tim ............ I think LOL.

Good to see you on here M8 and once again congratulations.

And yes Tim, as you know I am a simple, honest man. Simple things can't be fudged up as there aren't any greyer than grey (scuse the pun) areas. As you know we are a single income family and my thoughts were purely self related to match my overall poker budget.

David I am guilty of only playing in one rebuy tourney by accident. At the time I wasn't aware nor did I understand it was a rebuy tourney until I kept seeing the same two dills returning after they got busted.

I didn't really enjoy it as much as a normal buyin tourney so that was my first and last rebuy tourney.

So David, when you say it "IS" a simple rebuy tourney I guess in some way you are correct. But a simple rebuy doesn't normally include the additional cost of variable flight card stampings, does it?

As some of you already know Donna and myself are off for the most of May. She's visiting family and friends and I'm doing a little Pokering. Accommodations for Melbourne, Sydney and Gold Coast all booked and payed for and now I need to build my Poker account with minimum outlay.

However, for me to build my account I need a level playing field and it doesn't include multiple rebuys by those who can afford them when I can't. :(

Take care all and don't let the felt burn you when your raking in the chips.

No, its not. Bob is right. All these extra passports, double add-on's...its very different from a simple rebuy tourny.

I think I'll give it a miss too.

You never know Des he might be right, which would make me right. Maybe not 100% right but how right do you have to be to be right???

I wouldn't say Aaron has an extensive poker background any more than I would say, you or I do Des. The point I made of which Aaron is refering, was regarding multiple rebuys plus flight cards.

However, if I'm wrong and you do have that extended poker experience I'd like to hear your opinion so you can enlighten me as to which casino"s do have multiple rebuys and flight cards so I can avoid them?? :?

I was just asking if he was 100% certain, thats all mate :)

The 1st card can be treated as a rebuy (technically worth $10 but not going to the prizepool.)

2nd card can be treated as a rebuy or double addon (technically worth $10 or $20 on when its used, but once again not going to the prizepool.

It's really not that complicated.

Anyway, im on holidays and about to head to Stansbury for 8 days of R&R. Good luck everyone is all the tournaments next weekend!!

I think the only thing still not as clear as it could be is the use of the term "double add-on".

I would have thought a double add-on would be simply using the red stamp card AND forking out cash during the add-on period.

It seems using the red stamp card during the addon period gets you $4k instead of just $2k like a regular single add-on would, and that's why Garth is calling it a double add-on.

Could you confirm this for everyone please Garth?
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

In regular nightly freeroll tournaments the red passport is used at the second break to be redeemed for a double addon. The passport procedures for Event 1 will remain the same as regular events, the only difference is that in Event 1 you can redeem your red passport for a double add on and you can also purchase a cash add on/double add on as a bonus. Hence the added value to the passports at the break.

I guess people are getting confused by the use of the nomenclature attached to re buy tournaments and those used by NPL in freeroll events, the red passports have always been double add on passports, we just refer to it as an add on as that it the only add on that can be redeemed. In a real tournament it would be referred to as a double addon.

I suggest that there will be a lot of curious and unsure players at this event and it is simply a case of educating players once again. We will be launching cash buy in events shortly and we will be introducing different formats and variants over the preceeding months. So if you are confused now, wait till next year when you can pick from 6 or eight different tournament formats, or take your pick of NLHE or PLO or possibly Seven Card.
