I'm always out early Steve. Gives me time to work on my 8-ball game.

Firstly, thanks to everyone who has congratulated me & wished me success in the new position over the last week. It has been a little humbling to say the least.

Secondly, thanks to all the players who kept coming back to my venues & supported the NPL in the NE for all the seasons past. I thoroughly enjoyed my time as a Tournament Director & you guys made every night worthwhile. I will miss seeing you guys regularly but I'll still be dropping in to catch up with you all during the seasons. You never know, you may now see me sitting accross the table from you now & again. :)

I am very excited about my new role & especially the plans for the NPL in the future. There is so much about to happen that will change the face of poker in SA as we all know it. You should have all read about the changes in structure & format for the NPL Championship Weekend & how many more different events we are offering. Trust me when I say that that is just the tip of the NPL SA iceberg! What all these things will be I will communicate to you all as soon as the details are finalised....in other words....WATCH THIS SPACE!

Thanks again to all the NPL players, see you all soon!

Thanks Des!

AceLosesKing wrote:Wasn't Tim the last dude who tried to give Garth's job a crack, but was told by family/friends not to do it because its time consuming as all hell? I remember hearing that story from Bob.

It's true that I got alot of "Why would you want to do Garths job!!!" But as Garth said, I am a big boy now & having been in management positions before and I know exactly what is expectd & what kind of hours these positions can clock up. I am also fully aware of the need to achieve a balance between work & family life. (For those that wish to know I am 38, married for 9 years with an 8 year son).

Truthfully, I've been living a pretty comfortable life over the past couple of years. (Thanks to my hard working wife!!) I'm not used to sitting back & watching life go by so this opportunity to get back into the mix & challenge myself again was a much needed one.

Bob B wrote:It was never my intention to "stop" Tim from making any sort of a decision Bacon. My concerns were purely as a friend having been in a similar position of being available 24/7 was very hard on both myself and my family.

I have, and always will feel the love Bob. (But I'll never, ever call out your name again  )

Garth Kay wrote:My opinion is that Tim is a big boy now. He even goes to the toilet by himself and can sleep with his night light off.

Not completely true....I still have a night light

Well done on the appointment Tim.

I'll book us tickets no; England or the Caribbean?

Thanks David! I'm still thinking England but then the Caribbean does have its charms..... :)

For those who don't know Tim yet, I can assure you he is an absolute gun.

I rate him VERY highly and have absolutely no doubt he'll do a 1st class job.

Congratulations (again) Tim, you deserve it mate.
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!
