did he win the SNG?

i would of probably called, the money should NOT be an issue when playing poker, if you have to worry about it you should not be playing that limit, simple as that

if my maths is right, it would be a 22.7% of a 2 outer (in this case the A) hitting

so nearly 1 in 4 times you are losing there bruce

sucky, but not really a bad beat.

bruce, you need to provide information about your stack size.

my guess is that you would have been very short stacked - this means that AJ and AQ are always calling.

Just so you guys can work it out yourself.

I had to guess the suits here.
KsKd 73.43% win, 0.33% tie
AhQd 16.83% win, 1.39% tie
AcJs 8.35% win, 1.39% tie

my calculations were only for an ace to hit, not including flushes or straights or trips in the undercard, so i guess this is where the extra percentage comes from

some of you would call for value yet fold aces preflop?

no make-a da sense!

As if you don't want everyone allin preflop before you when you're holding aces.
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

Why would you call? Who says the money is an issue? If you're on the bubble to a satelitte seat into the WSOP ME and a SS pushes all in, and then the chip leader shoves over the top, why would you call with AA there? Regardless of what either player is holding, the chance for you to be knocked out is there. Its probably smaller when you're holding AA, but its there. And when position 17-1 are valued the same, there is NO point in trying to accumulate more chips. Wait for the SS to be knocked out - the SNG will usually end anyway.

Now, if you're folding down for money... that's different. At the time, Todd may have been short bankroll wise and US 227 could've been the kick he needed. To each their own.

What, you want to build a big pot with only a small hand? Sure already ITM, but not in bubble situations for serious cash - unless of course you're going to be blinded next hand, and you'll be all-in regardless, you'd take a punt with a pair anytime.

I know what you're saying Jamo, but I don't think this is quite the point of this thread - more about you goal should be to cash if you're building or playing with a bankroll, then you can shoot for the win.
