i was pretty happy with my mid 50's finish. Got lucky a few times before the first break. Had aces twice in 4 hands in 1st blind levels, 2nd time against kings. :-)

Flopped a flush first hand, jack high only to see the turn also club, and the single king beat me.

Took out 3 players from the same seat soon after Scott left my table. Had aj, board of akq... Called an all-in, he had kq, rivered a t

Enjoyed the day. Felt i only made 2 bad decisions, one being a limp which i should've folded.

Could've folded my last hand trying to limp into prizes, but didn't like that idea. Different story if i had've been close to cash bubble.

I was uber uber UBER card dead. Any time I thought about running a bluff, or making a move there was a raise / all in before me. Couldn't get anything going.

Ended up making a stand with A7 against 99

Flop A Q J

I was already standing up and leaving... I called for a 10 to give him an open ender.

Turn 8

Well it wasn't the 10, but gave him a gutshot... lets see if he can hit his 6 outer. "10" im yelling.

River 10

I quietly wander off.

PGCC is a great venue. Big thanks to the NPL crew as well. Awesome job once again. Thanks to Garth for the live updates.

90mins of folding for me
well, I limped to see two flops

I was knocked out when I was SB, limped with Q9, flop came Q 4 5, rainbow

Guy ahead of me moves all in, I put him on a straight draw, called him
he hit his straight on the river

Pout.

Nicely run event, big congrats to those who finished on top.

I was really happy with the way i played the whole time.

I lost a big pot early with two pair against a rivered bigger two pair which left me with only 2500.

But my luck turned and i was on a rush for a good half an hour, picking up some big hands and successfully stealing from LP a few times.

was sitting on around 14 k when i got an extremely generous double up through state leaderboard winner porky clayton.

I have [qs][tc] on the button and i limp against both blinds. Flop comes [qh][th][2s]. I cant put either of them on a set (although 22 was possible i guess), but when the small blind raised and porky re-raised i had to consider it. eventually i decided that i had to be in front so i jammed it for 13k.

sb folded and porky snap calls for most of his chips. (oh carp me tinks)

but he turns [qd][4c] WTF? anyway this hand got me going.

Had my stack up to 30k even at the first break, and had built that to mid-40's soon after. then came the hands had levelled me.

hand one i had K9 and flopped two pair on an all diamonds board. i lead out and get a think/call from my opponent. turn is a 4 (non diamond) so i bet again thinking he was on the diamond draw. He called again.

River was another non-diamond so i check and he goes all in for 4k (20k pot by this time). i think and then call. he shows 44 for a turned set. I possibly could have made that read as he wasn't pushing the river here without a set or better, but it was one of those pots that was too big to let go of (i gotta stop doing that).

A few hands later i get J6 in the BB and check to a limper. flop comes Jxx and i bet, getting the limper to call. the turn is another low card, but puts a straight on the board. i cant put him on the straight so i bet again. he again calls. ok, now im confuzzled, middle pair or set me thinks. the river is a J which makes my trips. i block bet as i dint want him to push me in if i checked to him (this was another 20+k pot). he calls and shows AJ.

Again another one i maybe could have got away from, but im still haooy with the way i played the hand.

After going card dead for a while i make the re-combine with 17.5k. blinds and antes combined are worth 10k by this stage, so i get myself into a push/fold mentality (as i should).

I get some blinds and antes with A9, which puts me to 25k.

3 hands later i push with KJ suited from the cutoff, and the BB calls with 1010. so i was racing, but the tens held and i was out in about 80th.

not quite good enough for a forum banner.

great day though, excellent venue too. the food and music outside made for a great atmosphere. another great day.
