I have "Three"

$150 for the modem
Then $129 I think, for 12 Gig.

It's prepaid, and I have 12 months to use it which suits me. If I run out, I can recharge.

Cool, I think this was what I was after, prepaid mobile broadband to go hand in hand with my Naked DSL (with home wireless network)! What are the range of prepaid options like out there?

Oh look, my fave work related topic.

If you're looking to use a wireless broadband product - before you even bother looking at plans or pre-paid or whatever ring the tech support department for the company in question and ask for detailed in-building coverage information.

You will not get an accurate answer from a sales person because quite simply they are not in a position to be able to give you a correct answer.

'wireless' just means 'transmitted without using wires' (in simple terms).
'broadband' just means 'quicker than dialup' (again, in simple terms).
'wireless broadband' actually does mean broadband delivered to your modem in a wireless fashion.

ADSL - internet technology delivered to your modem down the telephone wiring.
Cable - internet technology delivered to your modem down the cable network.
Wireless broadband - ususally used in reference to broadband internet delivered to your modem using mobile phone towers.
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

Wireless B/band (mobile internet)

Have a look at the coverage maps for each provider and then the various packages before deciding which carrier to use.

Now Mobile Internet, is 2G (GPRS) 20-40kbps 3G/NextG (3G/HSPDA)500-1500kbps

The 3G Providers
Optus the best coverage
Virgin backbones on Optus
Vodafone good city coverage but poor in the bush
Crazy John backbones on Vodafone
Dodo not sure
3 reasonable city coverage uses Telstra GSM network for roaming expensive.

Telstra NextG good coverage but very expensive
42.7 percent of all statistics are made up on the spot.
