I am looking at getting wireless broadband for my laptop. i was just wondering what everyone uses/ recomends.
I live in victor Harbor so it needs to have covergae there. I just need somethign that allows me to play online poker at a decent speed....
Virgin is about $40 a month for 5 gig. Would this be enough ? and also if anyone else has Virgin is is fast enough.
Any help would me much appreicated
Cheers!

5 gig would be enough for online poker, but I'll leave to the nerds to answer your main questions

3 are currently doing $0 upfront and half price for the 1st 6 months. $39 plan will get u 6gigs, so its only $19.50 for the 1st 6 months.

Re: Wireless Broadband
I use mobile broadband and 5 gig is plenty.
I'm in the riverland and with voda so here all i get is just above dial up speed and I play on line without any problems.
Virgin backbones on Optus and by their coverage map you would get 3G service which is ok but I would nail the local dealer and find out what the true coverage is.
3 check the fine print because as soon as you leave a 3 area you go on roaming charges, their own coverage is limited

Re: Wireless Broadband
You'd be best to ask the companies about Victor Harbor. I am with Three, I purchased the USB Modem and a 12 GIG "prepaid" bundle which I have 12 months to use.
But if I go out of the Three coverage area, I will either not have access or be charged excess. And it will be slower. Telstra might be ideal down there, with it's NextG network, but it's not cheap either.
I would be more inclined to look at ADSL or something similar down there, find out what other people use, would work out cheaper, faster, and more reliable.
