I agree with most of that.

I definitely agree with Diego leaving. Diego is a waste given that he's completely soft and is always getting either injured or sick. He did seem to suggest that his injuries aren't his fault and there was an implication it was something to do with the clubs training methods, but I think he's tossing.

Spagnuolo is a gun and I can't believe he's not gotten more matches, even though he has had some bad luck with injuries this season.

Sally has a very specific job which he does very well. That job just doesn't seem to be in the game plan very often. Barbiero can't pass either and there's a few others who could be lifting their game in that department too so I think he could have stayed on merit.

I'd like to see a lot more of Younis. He has a beautiful strike and just needs to say 'feck it' and have a crack more often.

What I'd definitely like to see more of is keeping hold of the good young players and not just selling them off when someone offers (in A-league terms) a bucket load of cash.
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

I agree with you that spags is a gun and he was one of our best players two years ago, but that was when pantelis was injured and cassio hadn't arrived yet.

Just for comparison, we had a mass exodous last year when alagich, bajic, burns, djite, kemp, giraldi, petta, ontong, owens and susak left.

We replaced them well this year, i can't see why we cant do the same next year.

Only Alagich, Burns, Petta and Owens were actually any good :)

Djite still had plenty of developing to do though so it's clear he would have done well eventually.

With the salary cap restrictions being as tight as they are it's fairly dangerous to continually have this happen. There's just no guarantee you'll get a quality player and you basically *need* youth to come through.

I'm looking forward to seeing how they handle it but I'd be lying if I didn't say it was worrying.

Beltrame's gonna leave as well.

Beltrame was easily 1st choice keeper before he got injured, he's now retiring I think.

Galekovic has done at least as well since he came in though and deserves to keep the number 1 spot.

Galekovic now is a much much better keeper than beltrame was at his peak (which was still very very good). But for galekovic to be talked about as schwarzers understudy shows how good he is. Although there are a lot of good aussie goalies playing overseas: jones, federici, coe, pektovic, van stratten (although he is back in the a-league next season), and i think kalac is still kicking around also.

Wish we had as many gun strikers. (except for scotty mcdonald of course - not being biased but he's a gun)

McDonald is indeed a gun, as long as he's playing for Celtic :)

No goals yet!

Viduka isn't the answer either as his job is pretty much 'hold the ball up and give it to someone else' and that's never going to score you many goals.

Definitely need a gun striker or two, but I do like Josh Kennedy.

especially against Asian midgets that come up to his belly button!

even if he doesn't score goals himself, just being able to cross it on top of him and him being able to beat pretty much every defender in asia is a good start

Absolutely, they are thoroughly scared of him and it's fantastic.

I reckon if he ran at them waving his arms about and shouting they'd probably all run away shouting "it's evil jesus! it's evil jesus!"
