bob, if you dont know what you are talking about, dont post. AAPT are more expensive, and you still have to have a phone line. so how does this help?
bacon, i would say a wireless router combo that you can also plug an analogue phone into.
i am not sure which one they recommend, but something like this would probably suit. not sure of the prices either.
i have a netcomm wireless modem/router (no voip) and it works well for me.
edit: msy have that router out for $179 which sounds pretty decent to me.
EDITx2: just had another look, and it turns out thats what adam recommend for people signing up for naked. why did they tell you to not use that modem?
JEEEEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZZZZZ, benny the cunt when you lose you get so friggin nasty M8. It was an option and they aren't dearer and they have a no return policy. Such a meany when you lose, bubble boy. LOL.
My suggestion was regarding him getting a FREE MODEM that he said he didn't want buy if you opened your eyes benny the cunt. Plus they don't have a contract!!!!!!!!!!!

sorry bob, but you are completely wrong.
aapt are 5 bucks a month dearer on their 20 gig internet, which is 60 a month, compared with adam's 55 a month.
that price for aapt assumes you have a bundled home phone with them, which is 30 a month.
the free modem is ONLY when you sign up for a 24 month contract. click this link bob
that is also a standard modem, not a modem for a viop phone bob. if you opened your eyes, bacon didnt say that he wanted a free modem, he said he wanted to know what was a good voip modem.
aapt dont have voip services, because they are also a phone carrier, so that wouldn't make a lot of sense.
so once again bob, sorry if i sounded rude, but you are wrong.
bacon, i also must have been lucky, as i am on the telstra budget plan with someone adam's adsl

Re: naked dsl
i used to be on adsl2, but moved to a house on a rim.
i cried myself to sleep for a week when i found out i couldn't get adsl2 any more.
des your existing modem will work, but you will only get 8MB out of it, instead of probably 12ish. (or so im led to believe)

Re: naked dsl
Des, if I go ahead, and I need a different modem, I'll have a spare ADSL 2+ that I could be willing to let go at a reasonable price

Re: naked dsl
Having recently had a read of Telstra's Terms and Conditions, I'm fairly sure if you go on to their cheapest home phone line rental they pretty much insist you use them for ADSL.
So I'm about to change to their 2nd cheapest because it doesn't have said restriction and then I'm going to port over to Internode for their Naked DSL like I've never ported before.
Netcomm modems are a pain in the neck, always have been - even for dialup.
Billion are reasonable from what I understand.

Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!
