Excellent post Matty.
Just for everyone's info Ross has been banned for 1 month. This does not mean we want you to comment on it. If you do, consider yourself banned - I am not the most tolerant person.
What it does mean is that replying to him from now on will make you look stupid.

Re: TD Participating in the NPL.
Getting plenty, of everything, thank you for asking
Was quite miffed to come back after a couple of days off and see such retarded rubbish in what was otherwise a good debate.
Sooooooooo back on topic!
Some excellent points have been made, some of them have even been relevant to the topic at hand!
Garth mentioned pro's and con's. Let's have a look at those then.
Fire away! Let's hear (in short form) both the pro's AND the con's and we'll see if we can't list them all together at the end.
I may as well start...
PRO - Most TD's seem to be decent players and competing against them can only be good for your own game.

Re: TD Participating in the NPL.
con: with extra points available to punters knocking out a td, some players may make less thought through decisions against an all in td in order to get said points, even with air, causing td to get more chips, bringing previous pro back into play.
However, these calls do happen against average joe, but i think they'll be more likely against a td

Re: TD Participating in the NPL.
It's fair to say that is a consideration given the new structure.
Kinda like knockout tourneys where people get a bit too excited cos it's worth that little bit more to them to knock someone out.
A pro for that might be players suddenly not checking it all the way down to showdown and they might actually start playing

pro-
every table i ever had the pleasure of sharing with a td has been a lot of fun because there is usually no disagreements, agrguments and there is an extra person who knows the rules present so i can get on with playing and not have to wory about all the sh%t that sometimes comes from a table full of people that 1/ dont know the rules and 2/ dont want to know the rules.
