Re: 800 members!
when I was in here a couple of days ago, I issued a challenge to my s.a. fellow players, to come to melbourne and have a game ... I was told to ask you what happened last time a challenge was made like this by a state leaderboard winner .... I will go find the quote and let you know who it was ... it might make sense then ... lol

Great! You are most welcome to spread the word Rosemary.
For every 10 people you get on here, I'll send you a great poker DVD.

Re: 800 members!
That's rather hilarious Dave
Rosemary, I quite deliberately avoided using the word 'winner' and SLB in the same sentence
I used the term "SLB legend" to describe a person who thought they were good because they were in a certain position on that board.
Having said that, kentishgirl is a mate of mine and I just like giving her grief.

Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

Re: 800 members!
BigPete, you can't take the title of winner away from someone who won it by following the criteria that was laid down by the NPL. If we all had handicaps, like in golf, we would win or lose based on the criteria as set out by the club and it would be accepted.
If Andre` Agassi won the Aussie Open and he was seeded - which is their common practice - and only played lesser known players til the final, then played Todd Woodbridge in the final, he would still hold the title of 'winner'. Even the runners of the Mebourne Cup have handicaps - it has to do with their weight (I would be in a bit of trouble if that was the case for NPL ..lol...) .. and the owners enter their horse, knowing full well what the criteria is and what they have to do to win.
If Wayne wins the title of state leaderboard winner this seaon, and Pete comes elsewhere, then so be it... we have to accept that, regardless of whether we agree with the method by which he won, he has followed the criteria of the NPL - and that is what the call it ... State Leaderboard Winner .. that is what my 2 trophies say ... and you think I am going to tell my family and non poker playing friends that it is NOT for that ??> why would I do such a silly thing??? lol ....
Kentishgirl, I was hoping to hear a good story about BigPete and a slb legend ... lol ....
David, just a quick one, ... which DVD would that be cos I have the Npl one, several times over ... thanks ... rosemary

Re: 800 members!
q9, kentishgirl has never 'won' the slb, but is top ten. That's part of the reason pete didn't use winner.
I'm not perfect. I'm what perfect aspires to become
