Re: POKER BOOKS
its a good point though bob
in anything you are learning, having to explain it to someone else makes you realise what you dont know and what you do.
but in poker, sometimes your gut feeling is telling you something that your head is telling you otherwise. and someone elses gut is telling them something different as well.

Re: POKER BOOKS
good post benny the cunt, i definately feel that sometimes
theres a lot of times when my instincts are telling me to make a decision, then i talk myself out of it and end up making the wrong decision

Chatting with other players about various plays you've/they've made/could make definitely helps to improve your game. Just see 2+2.

most people do steve
but a lot of the time its pretty easy to tell if they are lying.
and from what i have seen, you are a little bit better than most NPL players, so i wouldnt expect you to tell the truth if you are lying

Re: POKER BOOKS
I have read "Kill everyone" by Lee Nelson and co. and have founf it to be pretty good. There is some very complex maths that they go through which is a bit of a headf#ck at times, and im pretty good at maths - so the average person will find this way over their head i think. But the rest is very good. easy to read etc
Just download caro the other night too and started reading that (i know im probably way behind the times) but its obviously very good. The main part i think i have been missing is all the information i can gain form opponents just from when they sit at the table, not even playing a hand.
Things like their dress, how they stack their chips, their posture at the table (even after they have folded their hand) etc can give valuable information that i will definately use, perhaps not for regular NPL, but definately for the larger games (SF & AM etc) of at the cas if i ever play there again.
Im thinking of building my poker library. i have read most of super system too, but i have found lee nelsons book more beneficial to me. However most apects of theories outlined in these books are hard to apply to NPL's super turbo format. Thats why im starting to read about tells etc, cos they will apply any time i sit at the poker table.

Re: POKER BOOKS
Gee there ARE plenty of books available in pdf via torrentz.
I have yet to read a poker book, but it looks like I'll be set for a while now.
I've heard good things about Kill Everyone
