the pot was 3185. he had to put another 20 in.
that is odds of 3185/20 = 159:1
the chances of hitting a 1 outer with the river to come is 46:1
so there was odds to call regardless.
by the looks of it, it was in the early stages in the tournament, and to leave yourself with less than a big blind in this case is ridiculous.
if he had 100 behind him, then its not such a bad fold - if you get caught, you get caught. but for an extra 20, that move is just silly.
bruce you are getting confused about when the odds to call are. before the bet of 900 was made, there was no odds to go all in. but with only 20 more in the pot, there was definitely odds.
when you have $20, a read is no good - you can't fold to a raise. you just have to hope in that case that you get better cards than everyone else, not once, but prolly 4 or 5 times in order to get up to a playable stack
