Your choice. If you think you can beat him and you want the win, go for it. If not, chop it. The chip lead isn't that skewed that you're getting a bad deal - in one hand you could be in his position, or worse.

I was unaware any online sites offered the option to make a deal through the software itself - would this be a matter of the winner transferring the difference to the loser? Because in that case, I wouldn't agree to anything, because while I'm honest, I don't trust anyone on the internet to be, and have little doubt that should my opponent win, they'll conviniently forget to transfer it, and I'm unsure chatlogs represent any binding agreement. That said, assuming it was all set in stone, I'd take a chop there. As you said, getting to the crapshoot stage, and your chip lead isn't so commanding that you have much leverage to argue for a better deal, or such that the risk involved in heads up is minimal.

There is a lot more behind a chip chop negotiations than what first appears.

I have seen 5th place, get an extra 8k in the Sunday Million because he had the power in the negotiations. And the others wanted to settle too easily. Big scores, but they were willing to get rid of the cash so that they had the dollars. but for 5th, 35k to 43k is a huge jump.

I refused a deal yesterday that would have netted me slightly more cash, however it was only a deal proposed (as with the original post) by a player. Admin hadn't stepped in and given any chop figures.

After seven hours of play ... I was considering it though. longest tourney relative to the field I've played in a long time, and I'm now wishing the table had agreed to let Admin throw some numbers at us.
