Interesting reading a blog about this is that they ripped most of the stuff off from firefox.
as part of this deal, they then have to contribute code back to the development of firefox.
why would they do this? seems a bit silly to be making a competitors product better (although they do have existing partnerships with FF)

yeah, but its more like brand advertising for google. the more market share they get with a browser, the bigger the flow-on effect into people using their search engine, and of course looking at their adds.
open source software is good though

Re: Google Chrome
It's more an agreement than saying they ripped it off
Why reinvent something that's already the best!
Mozilla and Google are cool

Re: Google Chrome
I honestly don't know how there's still any other search engines other than google.
Does FF work with Windows Update now? One of the reasons I stopped using it previously was from having to switch browsers just to view certain pages. Most aggravating.

Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

Re: Google Chrome
i used to have that problem a lot as well, but i think the new versions of FF seem to be better.
anyway, search for ie-fox addon, it lets u open up a page using the ie engine within the FF browser, or if u want, to open it up in actual ie.
that solved all my problems

Re: Google Chrome
Yeah it's only beta atm, I'll stick with firefox since it's practically..well, good.
Google actually give most of the funding for mozilla so if stuff is ripped off from them then, well, they have the right to do it. Anyway IE rips off firefox more than anyone else...

Re: Google Chrome
after reading some more news/reports, i think that chrome will basically be a pilot browser to test new technology, and if it turns out to be good, then it will get incorporated into firefox, which is basically owned by google anyway, as they contribute most of the money to fund development.
