So how did everyone go, were you happy with the way you played?
Which flight and table did you start on?
Any hands that had a big impact on how you went?
Did you make the recombine?
How many runners/tables were left when you got busted out?
What was hand that busted you out?

Re: Forum Members Results - State Finals Season 3 2008
Sigh
I was out before the first break due to chasers.
I was up against a bloke called Alan, (I think he is from the Northern side) who every time was up against someone would just stare and stare and stare at them trying to get a read. He was actually quite humourous once you realised his game.
We had a chaser, (best not to get me started on that one).
My only disappointment was our table was actually quite quiet, no one was interested in having fun or a laugh. I guess you get that.
Nevermind, there is always watching from the sidelines for this seasons finals.. lol

Fairly certain I got 76th. Made the recombine with 12.6k, blinds 1k/2k. Soon as I was out, Nathan announced we had 75 players left.

I am so sorry Brice,
I was so grumpy by the time I was out that I didn't remember to hang around to give you the DVD. But I will hang on to it and take it to every venue I play at in the efforts to find one person who knows you so they can pass this DVD on to you.

i finished 5th, started in flight 1 on table... ahhh... 30 i reckon...
made the recombine with 16k, blinds 1/2k.
lost half of it 1st hand back, i had t.p.t.k. and another dude had middle set so that hand crippled me a fair bit.
from then on till the end i pretty much just made biiiig raises preflop or all ins from the button or cutoff with pretty semi marginal hands (blinds and antes were soooo valuable at that stage).
got lucky on a couple of occasions when i got called by a hand that was ahead pre flop...
made final table with 171k... 4th in chips i think.. blinds 20/40k
me and 6th went out on the same hand... had Jh-10h in the sb... utg folded... limp, limpitty limp limp limp went the next three so i thought i might as well with the value already...
flop was Ad-4h-7h... i was 1st to act so i shoved on my flush draw... (something i dont often do but i was hoping to isolate the main pot) for my remaining 120k (in a pot already pretty big, about 260k i think)
got called pretty quickly by denise with top pair and nut flush draw... Ah-5h i think it was... i knew i was pretty much screwed when she called... even before i saw her cards haha...
and yeah we both hit our flush but J-10 no good!
really well played to denise and ash also... congrats to u both!
aaaand yeah thats the story of my day.
i dunno how wsop main event final tablers survive... i was pretty buggered leaving at midnight after getting there at 8am haha
cheers, Jai
oh yeah and congratulations to all the NPL staff members who made an awesome effort at making the day run as smoothly as possible. they all did a very professional job and well done to nathan and his voice for the 10 million hands he commented throughout the day haha. great stuff guys

Re: Forum Members Results - State Finals Season 3 2008
I was happy with how I played...not so happy with the chasers i was up against who called no matter what they had. Like my first hand, with AQ - the board was nothing special, but I bet and bet again. We roll over, my opponent rolls over A4 - he'd hit his 4 on the river. Second hand played out pretty much the same. The 2 all ins i had to do failed to help me - the first left me with 500, the second knocked me out and i was out a few minutes before the first break.
Really really not happy

Re: Forum Members Results - State Finals Season 3 2008
a-4 is a premium NPL hand, and he had hit the board he wasnt really chasing
i dont know why everyone keeps mentioning chasers though, im sorry if i call a minimum raise on the turn with 13 outs

Maybe I should start playing A4!
Well, he called my raise pre-flop (3xBB), called my bet on the flop, called it on the turn and then called the river. Yes, he finally hit on the river, but up till then he was chasing IMO.
