The TD would be the one doing any actual timing, if it was left up to the players to call time and enforce it we'd have some extra variance

Anyway... folds around to the small blind... and a so-called decent player who had already folded says "god, someone call him please!".

The SB would have called regardless (he had AK)... but some TD's need to stamp out table talk, otherwise come state finals time, people are going to start getting penalties.

yeah table talk like that is the WORST type of bad etiquette

in a turbo tournament such as NPL imo more emphasis should be placed on how long u have to make a decision, most of u on here have experienced online turbo poker sit n go's etc where u only have 30 secs or similar to make a decision, why shouldnt it be the same in a turbo live game

i know there is no way to time every player but maybe people should raise this point to players who regularly take a loong time to make a decision, no one likes it when they start on the button and pay there first blinds at 100/50

thanks AK this was posted with the intention of obtaining an official answer to the question of the calling and enforcing time on a player .

thank you Ash and Garth for the quick response and quoting the Rule Book...........

from me , my reading of the replies .. I have a minute ( with a 10 sec warning ). from the offical call of the TD to enforce a requested time call from a player in the hand on the Table ... note this seems the norm... for a NPL turbo event....sure player etiquette is expected and 30 sec is fair and reasonable..time to make a play..

I note with interest comments of going into the Tank for up to five minutes in major Events...

NPL Games/ Events can be and are used by some players to practise and develop their skill in this fine game of Poker.

I for one will play to the rules and their enforcment to the Limit in this NO Limit game...

roll on debate/discussion and presentation of issues over and above the ' norm.'..

It can also be added that in the majority of deepstack events vs NPL events the following two points apply.

1.) Blind levels are often 45 to 60 minutes in length with a slowly advancing blind structure.

2.) Being forced to make a decision for your tournament life in an NPL regular event compared to that of a $500 - $10,000 tournament buy in is substantially different. Trying to finish in the points is a completely different mindset to that of trying to win $200,000.
